Cumbria Police arrested 16 football fans when disorder broke out following a pre-season friendly between Carlisle and Newcastle United.

Most of the arrests were made at pubs in Carlisle city centre, though a small number were made at the match.

They were for public disorder offences or being drunk and disorderly. No breakdown was given as to which teams those arrested supported.

Police said the majority of fans were there to enjoy the match.

always some wankers who give the club bad press

As I said in an earlier thread we had the biggest collection of wanks I've seen in years. These weren't "lads" like we used to take to Sunderland, or who turn oot for them here, or who used to go away in the 80's, these were council estate scum who's giro's had been saved up since May, for a chance to go to Carlisle and cause trouble. Rockports everywhere. The bamps on the wall drinking cans said it all for me as you entered the ground area.

We had punches directed towards us in a pre-season game at Hillsborough a few years back. Even if it is a friendly, you still get random charva scum hanging about. In fact, you're more likely to get the charv scum at friendlies because it's cheaper.
