Its noticeable that players never used to break metatarsals, and back in the day the game was a lot tougher and people got a good kicking. It must be something to do with the modern lightweight boots they wear not offering enough protection.

Perhaps they all need to take note of what you wore for the 5-a-side last year PapaL

as i play 4 times a week, i do notice there (even at my level of playing ability) is an awful lot more inuries than even 5 years ago to the upper foot.

 

i actually blame bladed boots more than anything ever since i've been using them (in98) i notice i cause more injurys with my clumsy tackles.

Sadly i have to announce i will be wearing normal footwear for the upcoming game!

 

Agree with the person that said he would kick start our peformances this season. You could tell Big Sam was expecting him to be fired up from the off and carry the rest with him and i'd alwaysf elt that him and having a fully fit Owen was going to play a big part in us getting off to a very good start!
