Gemmill 47062
Mackems 25/1 to finish bottom and 4/1 to go down. Both look like decent bets to me. The much-vaunted "Roy Keane factor" is gonna mean fuck all if he's going to keep buying Championship standard players - a good part of this "factor" was supposed to be that he'd be able to get big names in off the back of his reputation, which so far looks to have been bollocks. Anyway, I don't think they're bad value bets although I could look like a spanner come the end of the season.
Guest alex
I think they might stay up but the 25/1 to finish rock bottom is worth a fiver or tenner I reckon. I hate the wait for season long bets though.

Gemmill 47062
Spending 9 million quid on a keeper apparently!? Breaking the British transfer record for a keeper according to texts from my sister's mackem boyfriend. He's dead excited about it. "Aye and you said we couldn't attract big players" - this lad is leaving Hearts ffs.
khay 10
I reckon Wigan might just pip them to the bottom spot this time. Don't know how well Derby are going to fair yet though, however my money would also be on Wigan.

David Kelly 1280
Despite Wigan signing Bramble I certainly don't think they are any worse off than the Makems, Derby really do look like they will struggle badly though. I still fancy the makems to go down though. There squad is poor to say the least and unless Chopra really does prove to be better than we think, I can't see anyone getting nearly enough goals for them. peasepud 59
Speaking of bets and Im going to appear thick here but can anyone explain this to me? Does it mean that if I put a tenner on the toon and at the end of the season you add 28 points to our total (and the relevant ones to the rest) and if we were then top you'd win? Spackajack that I am
Gemmill 47062
I think so, yeah. My mate does this betting on shirt numbers thing - the goalscorer's shirt numbers are added together and you bet on under/overs on the value. Seems like a mug's bet to me, although he's made some money off it on teams where players have unusually high shirt numbers.

Guest stevieintoon
I don't think Sunderland will go down. Fair price though. My only bet this season is: I'm going to do a £ 1 Lucky 31 which will cost me £31 funny enough, on winners of selected leagues. I'm doing Chelsea, I think if they keep everyone fit, I still think they're the strongest side, it will take a while for the two younguns to fit in at Man Utd, and Hargreaves while being decent won't add a vast amount. Chelsea's biggest deals are yet to be done, I think they'll do it. They are 13/8. Looking at the Championship I think 6/1 is a brilliant price for Charlton. The form they showed in the last half of the season was good, it's a shame they had so much to catch up to though, and looking at the squads I think they're comfortably the strongest, WBA's squad is being sold off at the moment. If they sort their financial mess out I think Leeds will win that league. They have smashing players like Alan Thompson, and I like the 7/1 on offer. Peterborough are now cash rich and under new ownership, but I think Paul Ince proved his managerial abilities last season at Macclesfield, keeping them up from a seemingly impossible position 8/1 is a fair price. They have a new 28,000 stadium to fill as well, and the owners have pledged a lot of investment at MK DONS. The 6/4 on offer on Dunfermline is great value as well, as I think they're certainties. When the Irish bloke took over they attained some fantastic results beating Rangers, Hearts and Hibs, they'll be in Europe but not long enough for it to become a hinderance. The bet will cost me £31 and I will get back £9134 if they all win. If I get 3 out of 5 for example I'm still quids in.

If they're without Woody 4 months = back to their natural level.
