Lazarus 0
If Nobby was to relinquish the (holy) number 4, would have hoped Taylor would get it ... some odd re-arangements, like Harper changing his mind again on which one he prefers, 12 or 13. I'm positive that taylor specifically asked for the 27 number and i cant for the life of me remember why. Maybe one of the soopafans will enlighten us..... Taylor wears the number 27 shirt at Newcastle in recognition of Philippe Albert, a former Newcastle player, who also wore 27.

Craig 6682
I thought it was more to do with Woodgate than Albert IIRC. Didn't he say that he was honoured to be able to take over Woody's shirt when he moved to the no.6 shirt (that he never wore)???

khay 10
Fair enough, I think he would have grown up watching Albert more than Woodgate though and said it was a honour at the time which it was.
