Ta very muchness Corn exchange area is ok. Some decent music bars. HiFi is an OK club although we got booted out of it last time. Nb: It is still shit compared to Newcastle, Manchester or Sheffield. The Fish 11114
Gram knows nowt. HiFi is awesome night, but at the moment it'll be quiet because the students are absent and the professionals are popping off on holiday. On a Friday it's funk and soul, Saturdays it's "International funk, reggae, Ska, Afro Beats and Dance floor Jazz" after 10pm (before that it's a comedy venue. If they like indie they should go to the Cockpit, cheap bottles once your in and not too expensive entry.(£5) For pre- Cockpit drinks they should try either Call Lane if they've got taste and want to see some pretty girls, or there's always your standard Wetherspoons, Yates', pigfaced slappers etc. (I can't find a spitting smiley) If they want really good sing-a-long throw your arm round your mate- type stuff, they should try Jakes Bar and Grill on Call Lane. If they plan on getting shit faced on cheap lager though, I'd surmise that "drinks" in wetherspoons then a baja/bondi beach type scene would suit them better. They could see whats on at the City Varieties... but honestly Radg, if they're after the kind of "Stag Do" I see bouncing down South Parade in Whitley Bay, then it doesn't really matter where they go. If all else fails, there's Gatecrasher, Oceana, and the ubiquitous "Tiger Tiger"-esque bars on the Headrow. ... really, I don't know why I bother

wykikitoon 21687
HiFi is mint marra! Try the Circus bar round the corner too, its above the hogs head, neet little bar. But the Cockpit is a good neet too for Indie etc

luckyluke 2
Call Lane followed by Wire, Cockpit or Hifi would be my recommendation. Shame on you Fish for recommending the rotting shitpit that is Oceana to anyone.
