Jimbo 174
Spurs will are preparing to make a renewed bid for Barcelona wide-man Ludovic Giuly. Following the arrivals of Thierry Henry and Yaya Toure, there is little room for the 31-year-old Giuly, who was set to join Marseilles. However, sources at the Nou Camp say that the French club have lost interest as they seek a replacement for Franck Ribery, who has left to join Bayern Munich, and Giuly could be surplus to requirements. Spurs hope to lure the former France international with the promise of Uefa Cup football, but they could face competition from Newcastle United. Sam Allardyce is looking to bolster his strikeforce after losing out to West Ham in the race to sign Craig Bellamy from Liverpool.

Jimbo 174
Giuly rejects English offers Ludovic Giuly has revealed he has rejected offers to move to England and is considering staying at Barcelona next season. The French winger has been strongly linked with a move away from Camp Nou this summer with the club believed to be ready to let him depart. The likes of Tottenham and Newcastle have been linked with the 31-year-old while interest from Monaco and Marseille has cooled after learning of Barcelona's asking price for the midfielder. Giuly is in no rush to leave Barca and is ready to see out the final year of his contract . "I have decided to stay at Barcelona," Giuly told catalan tv3. "In the last days I have rejected offers from England and France. "My desire has not changed and I believe I am capable of doing something for this club (Barcelona). "Now I wait for official communication from the club and if I do not know anything in ten days I will return to work as normal with Barcelona.
