Dr Gloom 21757
Ah mate, you're taking me back to my youth with that one. Bonafide classic and it still sounds sweet. What is that - 20 years old?

I remember going to Helter Skelter NYE 1998 with me mate and as Mickey Finn came on I turned and said 'I bet he opens with It's Jazzy" which he duly did. Dr Gloom 21757
has anyone read or watched any of Clive Martins' stuff on Vice? He's pretty funny, though he looks about twelve so his videos don't always work quite as well. That said, his dnb one was class, I thought http://www.vice.com/en_uk/video/the-drum-n-bass-night
Dr Gloom 21757
bassline house. any takers? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_AJg922UjY&app=desktop
Alex 34718
S'alreet that. I like stuff like that dropped into a more generic, if you like, house set. Would get on my tits listening to bass lines like that all night. Bit like with an all tech house set, which that sounds a bit like anyway. Dr Gloom 21757
reminds me of getting baked with a crusty mate of mine at uni. he was always playing stuff like autechre, aphex twin and squarepusher. bit avant garde for my unsophisticated taste in electronic beats but good smoking music. No need to worry about that. An easy rule to apply is that, if I like it, it's good.
Dr Gloom 21757
i couldn't really imagine going out to that sort of music, which is kind of what electronic music has always been about for me, though these days admittedly i listen to it more often around the house. good music to listen to while getting baked and playing playstation, not that i do much of that sort of thing these days either
Alex 34718
That sort of stuff is designed for home listening rather than dancing to though. It's an odd concept (to me at least) compartmentalising electronic music like that as I've listened to it loads since I got into rather than just for going out to. Not having a pop or owt. Just my pov.

I've always been a stoner, which has had quite an influence on my tastes. That said, I love hard, fast, minimal techno plus loads of other stuff which would be considered more the kind of thing you'd listen to in a club off your tits. ChezGiven 0
Alex was a massive crusty, loved the Ozric Tentacles, mushroom tea and DIY trance parties. He lost his hair and re-invented himself as an urbane Detroit techno aficionado.

And DiY did house parties not trance ones (I know what you meant ).
