Its nice that, i got one of their early EPs on Nuphonic. Saw him DJ a few times.

You're thinking of Ashley Beadle's Black Jazz Chronicles I think. That's who I assumed it was too when I first heard it, going off the name (not too dissimilar a sound either). And Ashley Beadle was involved with Black Science Orchestra too. But Black Jazz Consortium is some lad from New York (aka Fred P). http://www.discogs.com/artist/651194-Black-Jazz-Consortium

Came across this yesterday. Apparently getting a lot of plays.

I like that.

Being the adherent to esotericism that I am, I've listening to a fair bit of (mainly older) Detroit techno recently. An underrated figure from that scene, who put out numerous tracks of absolute quality over a fair few years, is Anthony 'Shake' Shakir. Here's a Youtube user-made video to accompany Fact of the Matter, released on 7th City Records in the late 90s:

Check out the Fish and Chez bustin' some moves in Gotham Town from about 3:10 onwards.

They are great live.

Nice one, I really enjoyed that. Quite a 'retro' sound in places. Which is probably why I liked it so much. I'll keep my eye out for them, not that I'll be going to see them live like. I fear those days are long gone ;)

Based solely on the tracklisting I'm going to assume it sounds exactly like 16 years ago.

 Apparently it does.

Only got it yesterday but haven't got round to listening to it yet.

Had a quick listen and it sounds class to be fair so I think I'll be indulging.

This review on Discogs btw

Syro by Aphex Twin is a super legendary majestic eternal masterpiece that is beyond the reaches of time & space. Buy it like it's your last chance!!!

From the 2nd song and on I began crying - both tears of joy and sadness. Joy because of the albums' sheer sonic creative brilliance and phenomenal mastering. Tears of sadness to think it's his first album in 13 years, and to consider that he could have possibly thought that nobody would like his work. Throughout the album I experienced multiple phenomena of near-out-of-body-experiences, and towards the end of the album becoming like a weightlessness pulsating back & forth from my head to my toes - a feeling of joy great enough to melt all my sorrows. By the end of the album I had no more tears to cry and the last soothing melodic piece left me feeling refreshed and ready to accept the potentially devastating truth that I have reached the end of another masterpiece from the most important influential man of our time: Richard D. James!

(listened to album on studio quality headphones connected to a Digital to Audio Converter and headphone amp)

That last bit
