The Objekt b-side does it for me like, innovative and rewarding at the same time which can be a rarity these days.

I quite like. Sounds like stuff Speedy J was doing in the early 2000s. Reminds me of Kinesthesia's releases on Rephlex which were about '94 / '95. He had a tune on Colin Dale's Outer Limits too. Innovative you say? ;)

There is nothing new under the sun of course but am surprised by the Speedy J comparison. I remember Speedy J as fairly fast but bog standard and at times aggressive 4 to the floor techno.

A Shocking Hobby and Public Energy No. 1 were both quite a departure from his first two albums (Ginger and G-Spot) being a lot more experimental, breakbeat orientated affairs.

I like Actress, I've got Splazsh and RIP. Maze off Splazsh is superb, needs a track mixed underneath it though. Kraftwerk-esque.

Caves of Paradise and Lords of Graffiti off RIP are good too. I do prefer it when he makes tracks that can translate in some way to a club environment, even just for listening purposes.

15mins into that first Dan DIY mix. Loving these grooves, perfect for a sunny Friday before holiday

Whereabouts in Crete you off to? Only been the once (Agia Galini) but did a bit of driving around. It's a beautiful island. Would like to go on a walking holiday there at some point and do the 'Alpine' section of the E4. Not in the middle August obviously.

we're on the other side of the island, west of chania. got a villa with some friends, who have a boy the same ages as ours, up in the mountains overlooking the little seaside village called almyrida. went to the same area last year with the wife and fell in love with the place - white, sandy beaches are perfect for little ones because the water is really shallow and clear and driving around is unreal. some pretty hairy mountainous roads but the views are amazing.

lovely food too and not too expensive - I found mallorca and ibiza way pricier. the only thing i would say is the greek wine isn't great and it's difficult to get plonk once you're out there that isn't local. i ended up drinking beer and G&Ts all week.

Sounds lovely. I think we'll definitely head back there at some point. And aye, the vino can be a bit 'variable', to be it politely  You do get some canny stuff though. Actually, the wine from Santorini is excellent. That's a different island though, obviously. The olive oil in Crete is very good mind.

We found it very cheap too (about 4 years ago). Found this taverna, on a campsite of all places, which was really nice and the bloke there was so friendly. I think the most we spent there was about 20 Euros for the pair of us including drinks. We ended up going back about 4 or 5 times.

Have a good one.

I lived in Rethymnon for a summer. Me and a lass spent just over months in Greece, 2 weeks touring the Pelponnese then arrived in Piraeus. Asked some bloke selling tickets where was good but not too touristy and where we might get work. He recommended there.

Had a blast, she worked for the local mafia ang got asked to dance on tables every night, i blagged my way behind the decks of a club called the Cinema. Had a gigantic waterfall down the back of the bar. Was living the dream that summer.

It took me a couple of listens of RIP before it clicked, but when it did...

His first album Hazyville is well worth checking out as well.

That's a nice mix that, starts off with a decent Moodymann effort.

Apparently they had their van broken into after the party with some low-life(s) making off with the generator, donation buckets & a few boxes of vinyl.
