Papa Lazaru 0
I think there's a chance both will stay and i hope they do. I think there's only Arsenal with any likelyhood of paying the £13m for Martins and really, other than paper speculation and mentions of Wenger saying he rated Martins last season there's not been anything serious as of yet. With Owen there's the fact that Benitez doesn't want/rate him enough, Chelsea have never been linked with him, nor has Wenger really and alot of the top teams might want to wait and see if he is over the injury before risking £9m plus massive wages. If i was given a straight choice of who i wanted to stay then obviously its Owen, he's a world class goalscorer proven at every level and if he is back to his best could make a massive difference to our season. Craig 6700
Owen, Martins will score more goals and has age on his side. Agreed, Martins seems to want to play for us while Owen is only here for the cash. Owen can fuck off now. Equally What footballer, born outside of the North East, is playing for Newcastle for any other reason than for the cash? It's a job for fuck's sake. Shearer came here because it was his club, Owen came here to make money and cement his place in the England team and has never hidden this fact. Fucking get over it man, so long as he puts in 100% when wearing a black and white shirt (something he's undeniably done), I couldn't give a flying fuck what he says at other times.
