2bias 3
What do ya think? worth going for or no. i think we should you cant have too much cover at the back and i think if we have the chance to sign ANY defenders with any quality we should
Craig 6700
Decent centre half who will provide cover if nothing else. As has been said already, our squad is perilously thin especially in defence.
sammynb 3640
Is there a transfer fee involved or is he available on a free?
2bias 3
not sure, i think though he would only be used as back-up he is 33 now but could be good influence on the likes of taylor ramage huntington etc

Why would Hyypia come here to be cover, when he can stay at Liverpool and be cover in a team challenging the top four and playing in europe? Bombadil 0
33 is not too old for a centre-half, I'd have him.
Dr Gloom 22510
a bit slow and old i reckon. we should be able to attract better players but he'd still be a vast improvement on the likes of ramage, bramble etc

tinofbeans 91
very slow. great in the air and a threat occasionally from set pieces.
David Kelly 1280
Pace isn't the be all and end all for a centreback (as long as you haven't got two playing who are both slow as fuck). Baresi was still one of the best centrebacks in the world long after he lost his pace.
bassplayerjj 0
The only way he'd want to come here is if we guaranteed him first team football. I wouldn't like to see this. Look at Liverpool's Champs-League winning parternship him and Carragher. I like to think that Roz and Taylor could be a similar partnership but with more pace. Hyypia isn't the biggest (muscliest) neither is Roz, they have a similar build and from what I've heard and seen of him playing for Czech seems like the calm assured Hyypia type to go along side the local gladiatorial Carragher type in Taylor. I think he would be worth having for free or under a million, but blackburn and bolton have proved with the likes of Ryan Nelson, Mokoena, Samba, Meite, Ben Haim that there is plenty of defensive talent available abroad that could do a fine job in the prem without being 33 and on a high wage... Shearergol 0
very slow. great in the air and a threat occasionally from set pieces. One of the slowest in the Premiership. I'd only take him as backup, which I don't think he'd want to be. I reckon he'll go somewhere else anyway.
Baggio 0
Allardyce has spoke about bringing someone experienced in to play next to Taylor but I can't see him and Hyypia complementing each other very well, both are big and strong with average technical ability.
