Quick question, planning on heading down for the Juve game however having trouble finding somewhere cheapish to stay. How long does it take to get to Newcastle from Sunderland on the Metro?

Thank you.

well given that you're travelling forward in time, I'd give it a couple of years to be on the safe side.

(p.s. there are plenty of cheap places to stay north of the river mate, Whitley Bay for example.)

I understand that,I normally like to stick to the travelodges/premier Inns of the world though and the only one I could find was in sunderland. All though I might just get a youth hostel in town.

There's a travelodge at the quayside isn't there? Plenty other hotels too. Much more accomodation in Newcastle than Sunderland I would have thought. Plenty B&Bs etc. in Jesmond and the like too.

Yeah however they don't have any rooms. I will be looking into the other options. Just that there was a premier inn in sunderland so was just seeing how long it would take to travel in,

Jesmond has to be a better option than that. You can walk into town although there's a Metro station too (West Jesmond is the one nearest Osbourne Rd). Plus loads of bars as well. Sunderland is a shit hole and I'm not just saying that because I'm a Newcastle fan.

The one that was listed as close by was Sunderland the rest as full, I would only be going out for food at night so the night life is not a issue.

Does anyone actually know how long it takes then?

My auntie's in Shields is 2 minutes away from Ocean road. 65,485 chinese/italian/indian retaurants in a 30 yard stretch of road.

But if you've got any sense you'll find somewhere in Newcastle.

The Premier Travel Inn is miles out from the city centre. If you're stopping Sunderland, stop in the Travelodge in the centre

Don't stay in Sunderland mate, you'll just end up depressed going to the match. Awful town*, awful people.

* never be a city to me.

Ok, not staying in sunderland. It was only an option. Found somewhere for 30pound a night, only couple miles from centre. Anyone stayed at the Metro inn before?

Is it the Sunday night you are looking to stay? You can get the Travelodge on the Quayside on the Sunday for £15..

No, going down on the friday night, and coming home sunday after the game. Letting the wife loose on the shops.

Thanks anyways. Does anyone know when the tickets will go on sale, I'm taking a guess at least two weeks or so before the game?
