I understand that,I normally like to stick to the travelodges/premier Inns of the world though and the only one I could find was in sunderland. All though I might just get a youth hostel in town. You can walk into town although there's a Metro station too (West Jesmond is the one nearest Osbourne Rd). Plus loads of bars as well. Does anyone actually know how long it takes then? My auntie's in Shields is 2 minutes away from Ocean road. 65,485 chinese/italian/indian retaurants in a 30 yard stretch of road. No, going down on the friday night, and coming home sunday after the game. Letting the wife loose on the shops. Thanks anyways.
