snakehips 0
Jonny2jags expects my threads to have double entendre titles, but this one is about speeding All you fuckers who have had speeding tickets - and I just know there will be plenty of you on here - how long do they take to get through? When we were coming out of London, a week past Monday, Mrs Hips was doing over the odds, speed-wise (about 70 in a 50mph area). Strange as it may seem, neither myself or mrs H has had a speeding ticket (very much luck, rather than being slow coaches) so we don't know how long a letter may take. So? ewerk 31670
A total of four fixed speed cameras in N. Ireland makes the likelihood of me being caught a bit slimmer.
JawD 99
I've had loads over the last 10 years or so. Nowt for 3-4 years though. Id wait up to a month before thinking you are safe like, though Ive had them in days before. Also, if you do get one, make sure you reply querying it and asking to see the evidence (photo). I know a couple of people who were sent the wrong photo of a totally different vehicle meaning the penalty is void.
Smooth Operator 10
Got one through recently only a week or so after the offence, depends on how often the camrea runs out of film or they check it I think. Waited the full 28 days before confirming I was driving and am gonna wait the 28 days before paying the fine too so that my insurance renewal passes and I don't declare them! Was hoping the bastards would offer me that speed awareness course but they haven't, anyone know if you can request it rather than get points on your licence? You can only do that once every 3 years instead of getting the points. If you haven't done it before you should be ok to get it....

Also, we are not absolutely sure if the cameras are speed cameras, or just traffic monitoring ones. They were yellow cameras on top of blue metal poles but didn't look like the normal big 'box-thing' camera that we are used to elsewhwere. I suppose she will just have to sweat on it a bit longer. WubbleUC 0
I got done by a temporary camera earlier this year, on a moped for doing 38 in a 30. I swear to God mind, the road is on a slight downhill, and it was really fucking windy that day aswell. I had also just turned a corner after sitting at some traffic lights, so I needed to get my speed up a bit, just to avoid getting blown off! I was free rolling down the hill aswell when I went past the camera, I wasnt throttling it at all. Anyway, it took them about a week, and I got a letter telling me. I had to admit to it being me, then I got another letter 2 weeks later, saying I got a £60 fine and 3 points on my provisional. If I put a foot wrong in my first year of driving a car I'm fucked. Personally I thought it was a bit harsh, considering I hadn't exactly put anyone in danger. Laws the law though I'm afraid. Jimbo 175
My only ticket I've had for speeding was driving back home from the 4-3 vs ManUre a few years back clearly the glee of seeing Roy Keane getting his marching orders influenced my right foot on the journey home, 72 in a 60 in the middle of nowhere. Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Did they look like this: SPECS cameras clock your average speed over a set distance. If you've heard nowt in the next two weeks I'd assume you've got away with it. EDIT: some of them can be 'tricked' if you change lane between entering and exiting the monitored zone. Hope you realise your insurance is void if you don't declare, thats what i heard anyway I had someone go into the side of my car when I wasnt there. About a grands worth of damage. Anyway, I rang the insurance and they asked if I had had any speeding fines. I hadnt declared them. So I owned up and they told me to pay a premium (about 30 quid) and they got on with the work.
