The Fish 11090
all I care about is seeing genuine improvements in the cohesion of the side, clear direction and a progressive attitude. League finishes this year aren't so much an issue for me. decent performances a good cup run or two and improving the strength and depth of our squad, see products of the academy getting a chance in smaller games. Using a system that fits the clubs tradition and the players we've got. that is what I'm looking for.
Norbert Colon 0
Dangerous up front - organised midfield - well thought out set pieces and not being the defensive laughing stock of the motd pundits and the general public would do me - i am sick of that weasel faced twat hansen mocking our defensive frailties - stop that and i'd be a happy man
Gemmill 47247
It's quite strange you say this actually, as I cant remember the last time we went into a season where I've been this optimistic. Yeah I thought that too. I'm optimistic, not concerned or depressed. Allardyce and the new bloke aren't here to fail and we're not gonna go into the season without a competent back 4. It'll take some work to ensure that, but that's what we're paying him £12m over 3 years for.
David Kelly 1280
I'll go along with Gemma and SLP on the confident front although I think we clearly need to start making some forward steps on the defensive front in the next two weeks or so if we really want to get a good unit in for the new season. And although there are a few teams who have more money now, it was quite clear last season the standard of the league outside the top four was very poor. I think if anyone manages to put a decent team together they could easily break into the top six. League position isn't the be all and end all for me this season as I will be happy to see us start moving forward again after the last three awfull seasons but I don't think Europe is out of the question by any stretch. Isegrim 10031
A lot will depend on how well we start the season. We have a very nice fixture list until the end of the year where we will ideally collect loads of points and build up confidence... ...on the other hand it can be the typical slow start as every year... bobbyshinton 59
I have absoloutley no confidence in "Big Sam" I did not like what I saw or heard of him pre becoming our manager ala Sourmess. Having said that I hope he proves me wrong. Edited June 22, 2007 by bobbyshinton
luckyluke 2
If we don't get to at least the Semi finals of next year's Champion's League, I want Allardyce gone. Settling for mediocrity, expectations lowered.
