good player

past his best

would demand 1st team, leaving one our better performers of last season unduly warming the bench

also.. just a side thought.

HE'S NOT COMING

you lot would start an arugment with yourselves given the chance ... kids these days, I ask you

 Alex is standing firm on this one. I agree btw, he's always been about crossing from deepish.

 I know yeh, stubborn bugger!

His game has always been about deep crosses, I agree, but he used to have the legs in him to do both imo. Now he's very limited. Not a bad limit to have like, being able to pick out pinpoint crosses from the halfway line!

He just makes teams too one-dimensional for me. Look at Madrid on Sunday, whilst Beckham was on the pitch and RVN wasn't there he was just aiming long balls from the half way line to no-one. Madrid were so much more effective going forward when he wasn't on the pitch.

If we had the chance to bring him here full time then I'd definitely take him here, but for a few months in the middle of the season I'd rather we didn't bother, although it would depend on our injury situation at the time.

If Milner's our best player up until Christmas would we drop him for Beckham? He's going to want guaranteed football to come here and if we were to drop someone in form for him then it would send out all the wrong messages to our players IMO.

He has, but he's also relied on those deep crosses more and more as what pace he had left him. Probably a reason for going to the US league to a certain degree, might will compliment (or at least mask) his increasing immobility.

I'd be proud to have Beckham as a Toon player for a couple of months. And even if Milner is, (I pray) in form, Beckham could play in the middle. Even so, his missus would never let him come to Newcastle.
