wykikitoon 20945
Lewis Hamilton Mania!! Its starting to do my tits in to be honest, but well done. I aint no massive F1 dude, but by the looks of it he does have the talent, but how much does the car he is driving have an influence on his current standing? Anyways, the British Media are IMO building him up loads, wait until he makes a mistake they will shoot their fat loads all over his face like he was a cheap slag! ewerk 31238
It's the typical British media hype. Aye he seems to be in a very good car but he's still outperforming Alonso so he's obviously doing something right.

Guest alex
I saw the bit on Britain's Got Talent where Piers Morgan said those breakdancers reminded him of Lewis Hamilton. Well, they're black too I suppose.

Ketsbaia 0
The media hype is getting on my tits but lets face it, he is completely rewriting the history books, has finished on the podium in every race and is making the current World Champion look amatuerish. If anyone deserves the hype at the minute, it's him.
wykikitoon 20945
I like how they have interviewd people and asked their views on him and everyone is black!!! I watched garderners world on fri night (dont ask) they were interviewing a news reader from the midlands who was black. Everytime they had any footage of her and her family in the garden, the music in the background was either, M People or the Lighthouse famuily The Mail interviewed someone about Hamilton the other week and they said he will be the first $100m driver because he is good blah, blah oh and he is black too
Jimbo 175
Normally I would agree, but I think with Lewis Hamilton, the hype is justified.

Craig 6700
F1 is two way thing though, you need the car AND the driver to provide the results. There's no denying that Lewis has the best car on the grid and that has helped him in the results he's achieved, but he's still put in the performances and not put a wheel wrong all season. Anyone else hear Alan Brazil's gag on Talksport this morning? The one about 30 years ago, 21 white men chasing a black man would make other types of news

Happy Face 29
There was an interview in the Times magazine this weekend where they said how good it was that throughout all this coverage he's getting, his skin colour isn't commented on at all as an issue. They made this point repeatedly Glad to see someone good get built up rather than the likes of Hill, Coulthard and Button who I think were FAR more about the car. Craig 6700
Don't agree actually HF, I think DC was about the car, the other two (Hill in particular) were vastly under-rated. The success of the Williams in 1991/92 was down, not to Mansell's driving, but the amount of test work that Hill carried out in that time. When he was promoted to the race seat in 1993, I wasn't in the least bit surprised that he succeeded as he knew the car backwards. Hill's downfall was his own greed. It lost him the Williams seat for 1997 and it also cost him a seat at McLaren for 1998. Button is one of the best drivers on the current grid but I think he has been unlucky in terms of poor management (both team and personal management) and in his own judgement. In hindsight Williams should have kept him on for 2001 and dumped Ralf, instead they loaned him out to Benetton who were in a transitional phase to Renault and the car was awful. When the transition was complete, Briatore dumped Jenson in favour of a driver he personally managed. Button kicked Villeneuve's arse in the first season at BAR and then was the nearest challenger to Schumacher's title the following year. Since then Honda got delusions of grandeur, bought the team, sacked Dave Richards and all the decent staff they had, employed that gormless twat Nick Fry who has never been seen for months (since Button won the race conincidentally) and replaced all the engineers with ones drafted in from Japan and then team has gone backwards. I'd be very surprised not to see Jenson move on at the end of this year - possibly to BMW, possibly to Ferrari.

Guest alex
A bit like Alain Prost who definitely had that bend in his nose just so his massive Gallic sneck could fit inside his helmet. Edited June 18, 2007 by alex
snakehips 0
Lewis H seems to be canny good. If he is too good the sport might suffer as it becomes a procession once again. Expect to see Schumacher come out of retirement some time to pit his wits against the young pretender.

Don't get me started on that cock-knocker! Alain Prost who was a half decent driver so long as it wasn't raining. Soon as the heavens opened it was like a game of spin the bottle. The feckless twat even managed to cross the finish line once while spinning....
