ewerk 31587
He was forever having to pay to get the windows replaced too. Disgruntled sandwich shoppers were an issue. Plus people (hard people) turning up drunk and announcing that they wanted a sandwich but under no circumstances did they intend to pay for it. No sandwich artist should be expected to die for his art. They have to put bouncers on the door after 8 at one of the Subways in Belfast.
Renton 22401
I noticed theres a new subways about to open on waaaaallsend high street - couple of doors down from the kfc. My mate had a Subways franchise and managed to end up declaring himself bankrupt with it. Genius. How the fuck is that possible like, were you eating there for free? Seriously though.....how is that possible? Those places charge a fortune for next to shit. Not sure really. I know that Subway basically require you to pay them a certain amount every month regardless of takings - it's a percentage but there's a minimum threshold. He must have got into debt to set himself up with the franchise and then didn't make anywhere near enough to live on/pay off the debt. There's also the fact that he never actually went to the shop. He would just sit at home and fill in the returns and let his "sandwich artists" (I'm not joking, that's what they call them) do all the work. Dipping in the till artists by the sounds of it. Naah, Subway's is nearly always empty. I'd never get involved in a Franchise with it. Which one exactly? Just so I don't have to queue for my puke smelling butty in future. All of the Newcastle ones I pass from time to time - 2 near central, one on Grey street, one on Newgate street, one opposite Fluid.....

I saw the manager out of the Centra on Great Victoria Street the other day rolling in the street with a charva he caught nicking a bottle of coke. Quality viewing tbh. Can't say I've ever seen them empty, normally heaving, mind the times I go would probably be their busiest times, i.e. around twelve at both ends of the day. Renton 22401
Anyway, eating crap from a vending van outside SJP is surely worse, and I've seen some toontasticers and N-Oers do that before. Gemmill was one iirc. I was once starving and bought a boiled burger from one of those things. Got paranoid for days after I was going down with CJD. manc-mag 1
I know a lad who has a Costa (iirc) Coffee franchise for his sandwich shop. The mark-up on that stuff is fucking ludicrous. The mark up on coffee at any of those outlets tbh. Anyone who is prepared to pay that much for it is plain retarded tbf. Apparently it's the biggest mark up on any mass product at the moment. That or nuts. Could be nuts actually. Again ridiculously expensive considering they just come out of the ground.

I don't mind paying for nice coffee (I keep the receipts over here mind ) but Costa, Starbucks and Ritazza (probably the worst) etc. serve shit anyway. The mark up is irrelevant.

Sorry what I meant to say is that coffee tastes like shit to start with so why anyone would pay anything for it is beyond me-but I find the Starbucks phenomenon particularly baffling. Having said that I think a Thermos would suit you. Does anyone remember Thermos O' Flask out of Viz btw?
