That sounds class, Parky. Is your lass a German Greek then? I bet she's fucking filthy!:lol:

Nah she's proper German. Blue eyes an all that.

The Greek chicken is summat I let onto her mum as one of me faves...

Watched that thing with Lovejoy on on Sunday morning and they had some bloke on who made the following "pate":

Smoked, peppered mackerel, flaked into ricotta cheese and cream cheese, with fresh lemon juice squeezed in. This was all mixed together and spread on brioche. Looked canny nice.

The brioche is an error for any sandwich for my money. Far too sweet.

Tbf your sanwich looks pretty good but the choice of mushrooms is clearly flawed.

Wrong! The chestnut is a meaty mushroom which just bulked things up nicely.

It's a womans choice for fucks sake man. A mans choice would have clearly been a portabello!

The Portobello is a pleb's mushroom. I wouldn't even have them in my house.

That's because your clearly a fanny, the portabello is a mans mushroom.

Agree with Gemmill for once, the portabello is strictly for Big Issue vendors.

Ironically it's the flatcap mushroom that dresses the top tables. ARS.

Pop down to the nearest Subway and order:

Chicken teriyaki

Beef

Double Cheese

Southwest Sauce

Sweet onion sauce

Jalapaenos (optional)

Beats the original sandwich of the thread tbh.

A thread about gourmet sandwiches, and you mention subway. You have much class as that tramp who suggested a crisp sandwich.

Bollocks, it's the king of the mushroom world.

I might add that I'm fucking starving now and would kill for any of these sandwiches.

Incidentally, what vile slop was Gemmill and co eating from a vending van after the match at the last piss up? And he has the nerve to chastise me for going to Pret and M&S!

Parky's simple Greek chicken and balsamic onion ciabatta.

Escape with doggy bag of Oven roasted Greek chicken from inlaws.

Young hi/fast roasted chicken in rosemarry and thyme with lashings of lemon and lemon peel and garlic.

White balsamic oozing onions.

Fesh ciabatta from the deli.

Oven heat ciabatta for 5 min

Cut in half but not to the edges ie making a long pocket.

Insert chicken and portion of onions to taste.

Season as desired, not too much salt which masks the delicate herb infused chicken.

Heat a pan with no oil till very hot and rub a clove of garlic on this intimidating surface.

Flash the chicken filled ciabatta on this heat for 10 secs each side.

Eat.

Welcome to Paradise.

this one is winning so far and I've all the ingredients needed at home  I'll judge this one tomorrow.

how the fuck did this get four pages before I got my chippolata fingers into gear?

Favourite at the moment is definitely the Piri Piri Chicken, sweet chilli jam, Wild Rocket, Fat Slice of tomato, Walnut Cheddar/Caramelised Red Onion Cheddar in a toasted foccacia.

No special preparation other than either buying the Piri Piri Chicken or making yourself a full Piri Piri chicken meal the night before and leave a sandwich sized portion in the fridge for your sarnie the next day.

Slice the Focaccia in half, spread the Sweet Chilli Jam on one side (and one side only) lay the chicken on top of that, then the rocket (sometimes it's nice to put a little cracked black pepper on here, but it can lose itself in a mix of flavours) Then two or three decent slices of the cheddar.

Shake a little olive oil over the foccacia then bang under inside the sandwich toasting thingy that Gemmil mentioned, leave for a couple of minutes until top is nicely toasted then slice into triangles and eat.

Congratulations you've now acheived inner peace

The Bagel one sounds well tasty mind.

Gemmils is too busy ifymeo

It's all coming out now. Pre-packaged sandwiches, Subways or Burger King are the order of the day for the self-proclaimed gastro boy, Renton. What's for tea tonight, Renton? Fish fingers? Findus Crispy Pancakes?

Don't go there myself but Subway is infinitely preferable to McDonalds, Burger King, or KFC. I had the misfortune to buy a "whopper" the other day and nearly puked on it.

If you want a burger then get a jalepeno one from M&S and load it with cheese, mushrooms (chestnut are fine for this  ) onions and their basil mayo. Best burger I have had by miles.

I can't believe you ended a thread describing how to prepare THIS sandwich by accusing my sandwich of being "too busy". Piri piri chicken AND sweet chilli jam?! Oh dear.

I'd say it was, we're looking for 'the best sandwich ever', and you come up with Subway. You, sir, are the fucktard here.

Reminded me of when I made that fish finger and potato rosti sandwich. With plenty of heinz ketchup (no substitute) of course.

That was lovely, but with each bite I felt obese.

The burgers at M&S are supoib. The best burger I've ever had was actually in a Belfast eatery which ironically is no good for Alex as he's a veggie.

Wtf are you on about? I said I don't eat in these places - I was in BK last week before a gig on the request of a mate - bad mistake. You couldn't make your sandwich at work though, could you? So what are you having?

In terms of situational craving for a sandwich that hits the spot, I stand by Subway.

Best sandwich ever doesn't have to be gourmet. No point confusing palette by overcomplicating a sandwich. Piri piri and sweet chilli ffs (although separately are perfectly fine).

Isn't the cheddar a bit too overpowering in this? Like the sound of it mind.

.

At the risk of getting bogged down in semantics, gourmet refers to the finest quality of food and drink. But that's really irrelvent.

I stand by your lack of taste.
