Guest alex
By the way, I also think that incident is one of those scapegoating things that England fans like to do. Like the wankers that say it was Shearer's fault we didn't beat Argentina because he fouled the keeper when Sol Campbell scored. The Beckham incident was on the halfway line or something, yeah he jumped out of the tackle, but there's plenty could and should have happened after that point to stop them scoring. I agree. But he bottled out of a fairly soft tackle, which was my original point. He thought it was going out of play and was conscious of his recent injury though. Fop 1
I don't think I've ever seen him "not arsed" or "give up" for England. I've seen him play poorly, and I've seen him play when he clearly wasn't fit, but I've never seen him shirk. He hasn't sat down and gone to sleep no, but yes he's definitely has had many games where he's not "given everything" and "never given up", irrespective of injury. In fact you can see it decline through his time as England Captain. Ironically he almost always plays best after being written off in one way or another. Nah, always works his bollocks off imo. Had poor games but his attitude is unquestionable. You've not been watching some England games, he's not as bad as many, but equally he's no footballing Rocky Balboa either. tinofbeans 91
despite my problem with beckham earlier this year he has been (alongside van nistelrooy) madrids best player this season for me. his work ethic doesn't make up for his lack of outright speed in some circumstances but his delivery is excellent still. that team of madrids though has major flaws. they were lucky to win the title.
