Jimbo 175
SAM ALLARDYCE is preparing for life after Michael Owen by lining up a £7 million swoop for Seville hitman Fredi Kanoute. Sport of the World understands Newcastle boss Big Sam has already contacted representatives of the former Spurs star. Kanoute's agent Christophe Mongai said: "It's true Newcastle are interested, but so are Portsmouth. "There's no concrete offer yet but Fredi is interested." Kanoute wants to join a big club and fancies the Toon ahead of Pompey. The Mali striker, 29, has 20 goals for the Spanish side this season but has recently fallen out with them. Owen cost the Toon £16m in August 2005 but could leave for just £9m.

Kid Dynamite 7310
He must be doing something right to get 20 goals in la liga. EVeryone was happy to take forlan when he was the leagues top scorer

Shearergol 0
Kanoute, Viduka and Martins. I'd be happy with that. Martins and Kanoute will link up far better than Martins and Owen too.

Fairly average figures, mainly because he's so inconsistent. On his day though he's class. I'd rather us go for Anelka, but I'd be happy with Kanoute. tinofbeans 91
not suited to the premier league based on those stats. as holden(?) says, we need defenders first and attackers second.....
ewerk 31581
£7m for an average player who has fallen out with his club is too much imo.

Dr Gloom 22508
i don't think he'd be a bad signing. not that spectacular but about the level of player we can expect to sign these days with no european football on offer.
Glen 0
£7m? Ahem, if he can score 20 in La Liga and kill off the Yids in UEFA, despite the fact they baited him before the game, and Bent is worth at least £15m... I'd fucking take that. No problem. People need to watch more La Liga.
