Kevin Carr's Gloves 4090
Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has won the legal battle against former manager Iain Dowie. Jordan had accused Dowie of lying when he left Crystal Palace in 2006, claiming he wanted to be closer to his family in the North West. However, days after leaving Selhurst Park, Dowie was appointed Charlton manager, which infuriated Jordan. He launched legal action against Dowie and a High Court judge ruled in his favour on Thursday. Mr Justice Tugendhat ruled that Palace had agreed to let Dowie leave under a compromise agreement which was based on "fraudulent representations" by the former manager. Before Palace allowed Dowie to leave, he had a clause in his contract which meant any club would have had to pay £1million compensation. The question of if and, if so, how much compensation Palace are entitled to will be decided at a later hearing. Jordan himself was pleased with the outcome of the hearing. "I think if you're going to take these things on you have to be positive, there is always a chance you're going to lose - but the most important factor is that I took a man to caught for fraudulent misrepresentation and he was found guilty," Jordan told Sky Sports News. "It is important that I didn't take Iain Dowie to court for £1million, I took him to court for fraudulent misrepresentation and that is what he was found guilty of, it is not for me to decide what damages a court will award. "The court will look at the costs, and then the judge will consider damages and whatever he considers realistic is his decision, but most importantly it is a good case for football."
