Best/Worst/Quirkiest present

Cast your mind back, folks!

Best: Coming downstairs on my 12th birthday to see a bright shiny bike in the hall - fuckin' brilliant

Worst: Hmmmmm, I'll have to think on that one.

Quirkiest: A wedding present. My, exceedingly old, aunti Marie (as in Marie Curie) was 'stepping out' with a gentleman who did a bit of art. The gift we got was a glass that you would get in a petrol station, hand-painted with a heart and words something along the lines of '*** and ***** True Love For Ever'. Sounds nice, dunnit? I must say, though, that the painting was so bad it was the cheesiest thing you would have ever seen! We were very grateful though - it was at least three or four years before I used the glass to clean my paint brushes. (I may sound ungrateful, but, honestly, I am not one for expecting any gift at any time so I fully appreciated their effort in the gift)

Anything stick out in your minds???

In your own thread and all! The shame.

Blatantly just an excuse to unload the guilty burden of your paintbrush-related tainting of a gift given in good faith.

My friend made a brilliant present for one of her friends - she got three passport sized photos from some of her (the recipients) friends and made a Guess Who board with new people. It looked amazing.

Is she a student by any chance?

Surely the game wasn't playable with any degree of accuracy though. Unless her friendship circle happens to include a lot of people with sailor hats, comedy glasses, red moustaches etc.

Depends whether you're an optimist or a pessimist, I reckon.
