Scottish Mag 3
Newcastle United forward Albert Luque will not be returning to St James' Park. Boss Sam Allardyce has made it clear there is no place for the Spanish striker in his Tyneside revolution. Luque, a £9.5million signing from Deportivo La Coruna last summer, has struggled to make an impact since his arrival in the North East. PSV Eindhoven made a bid to sign the 29-year-old on loan but the deal fell through, reportedly due to the player's high wage demands. Luque's father and agent, told the Daily Mirror: "We've tried to contact Allardyce to see what plans he has. But he has not spoken to us at all." ewerk 31581
Would have made more sense to sit him down to talk to him and try and at least recoup a million or two It seems strange to me that Allardyce is happy to take a huge risk on a £5.5m nutcase and try to use pyschology to get the best out of him yet won't even give a current player who is an ex-Spanish international and cost us over £10m the time of day. He'd be better off concentrating on the players who we already have and may be worth keeping before recruiting more problems for himself.

I think Sam has far too much confidence in his ability to reform players and is believing the media hype around himself. IMO problems like Barton should be avoided unless it's a complete bargain and I wouldn't call £5.5m a bargain.

I'm intrigued to know how kicking seven shades of shit out of Dabo and stubbing out cigarettes in team mates eyes warrants a loyalty payout. Even if he did have a valid arguing point based on a contractual term, when you've behaved so appallingly and yet been rewarded with a big money move, you'd hope that he would just walk away with dignity thanking his lucky fucking stars! But apparently thats too much to hope for.

Matty 0
Why would you want one of our new managers deals to fall through? Surely if we are happy with Sam then we have to trust him and believe whoever he brings to the club will be a success. Well I'm not 100% happy with his appointment but his track record does mean I'll back him. Although he has been applauded for the revival of several players careers, a lot of the time he has got it wrong in the transfer market but because his signings have been on frees or for low fees no one has made a big deal out of it. If he get's it wrong this time we're stuck with a player on high wages and more than likely going to make a big loss on his resale price.

It's nothing to do with wanting the managers deals to fall through per se, I just dont happen to agree with the wisdom of the Barton transfer. Paradoxically it's because of my faith in Allardyce that i'd be happy for it to fall through, as I see Sam as emininently capable of identifying and securing an alternative player in the event that it did. Unlike previous managers who I won't waste my time mentioning.

All he has said was that he hasnt been able to get a hold of Allardyce to see what his plans are. So this is interpreted as Luque not returning to St. James Park? Or it may just be that he realises Luque is as shit as he seems. How we paid £10 million for him is beyond me, he hasn't looked worth 10p irrespective of injury.
