snakehips 0
Isn't it about time that someone checked out this guy's lineage to find some Geordie blood in his genes? I am glad that he appears to shun the limelight (which tends to suggest this venture isn't a glory trip for him) and I'm glad that he's British. But to find a little Geordie blood in him will just make things that little bit easier for me. Still, whatever his background, he must be better than the Hall's and Shepherd show we've had to endure the past few years.

Guest alex
I think manc-mag made the point (not sure) that it may be good that he has no Geordie links and may view things more dispassionately as a result.

snakehips 0
I have to say that my post was a little tongue in cheek Not all, though. To have someone with an affinity with the club would just have been the icing on the cake, is all I am saying. I can't be the only one who has a reservations as to what the motivation is for Mr Ashley, I say Ashley ?? For all of you who are 100% behind him, please enlighten me as to his true motives. Guest stevieintoon
I have to say that my post was a little tongue in cheek Was it shite you're just covering your tracks. I couldn't care if he's the head of Al Quaida to be honest, as long as he invests millions in to the toon I don't care where the money is coming from. Guest stevieintoon
I've got to say I would care if he was the head of Al Queda like. Like the head of Al Quaida is going to be allowed to launder money in an English football club. Oh dear.
manc-mag 1
I for one am delighted he's not banging the Geordie Nation drum. Jesus man snake, wasn't it you advocating the SJH stand should be renamed the Geordie Stand yesterday an all? It's parochial guff like that that distracts from the only task in hand. The regional identity (and it's link with the football club) is stronger up there than at any other club and it speaks for itself. As long as Ashley's not planning on relocating the ground to Sunlun as part of his redevelopment plans then theres nee problems in my book. Now change those Geordie jeans of yours. Theres the unmistakeable stench of diarrhoea in the air.

snakehips 0
To say I'm shocked would be a vast understatement Firstly, Stevie, I can assure you without any reservations that my post was more tongue in cheek than my display of alarm and I am not 'trying to cover my tracks' !!! Secondly, ScottishMag - I CANNOT BELIEVE ANYONE CAN HAVE BELIEVED FOR ONE SECOND ALL THAT CRAP ABOUT NATION OF GEORDIE WAS REAL !!!!!!!!!!1111111 Every one of my posts about N.O.G. was tongue in cheek rubbish - FACT! My reason for the post was just a pathetic attempt at wondering what Ashley's real motives are. A pathetic attempt maybe, but nothing more than that

snakehips 0
I fuckin' hope I didn't want the Leazes re-named the Geordie Stand, or summat No doubt half of the folk who have just left this thread are now trawling through history to find evidence of my parochailism!!! I have no problem whatsoever with any 'outsider' owning the club. I just wonder what his motivation really is, that's all. No doubt some folk are probably believing the guff I post about 'south of the river' stuff as well !! *heads off to the tattoo studio to get a GEORDIES ROOL trade mark*

If you choose not to believe it, that's your decision. I'm glad Ashley is British as I guess it shows he does have some knowledge of NUFC and the purchase isn't just a play thing with a 'franchise' or whatever these USA owners call it. But what is his ultimate motive?? To make money? If so, then why should we expect him to spend big bucks ?? He doesn't have to be a Geordie to have a 'feeling' for NUFC but to have some sort of attachment might mean he will gamble from time to time with signings rather than play safe ? I am overjoyed he is virtually in control/ownership of the club, but I cannot be the only one who has some sort of doubt as to his ultimate intentions ?? Shirley ??? snakehips 0
Oh, and it was Bobbie S who suggested 'Geordie Stand' I notice all the feckers attacking me of being Geordie-mad and, no doubt, went to check the accusations of me suggesting 'Geordie Stand' didn't have the decency to come back and grovel and scrape in apology. By way of apology, just send a generous donation to Save the Snake. All donations welcome, no matter how large! ithangyu
