I was in a hotel room last week watching a recording of an Aus/Eng 20twenty game on ESPN.

Anyway, some of the players e.g. Vaughan and Gillespie (Church) were 'miked up' to the commentators.

Now, ordinarily, I don't particularly like limited overs cricket, but the commentary with the players/commentators and the fun that the players and fans (apart from 'Punter' Ponting, that is - the sour faced twat) seemed to be having really appealed to me. Well, appealed until I had to leave my room as I had a prior engagement with copious amounts of alcohol at the bar ;):D

I imagine some of you will have seen this malarkey before, but how many find it as good as I thought it was? Or, who thinks it's a crock of shit?

Thoughts?

I like it, Illingworth (can't remember his first name, Raymond maybe?) was miced up in a game i caught a while ago and was struggling not to swear, eventually it all got a bit much for him and he let out a few expletives. Cue 10 minutes of commentators apologising profusely and cutting his mic. He was well funny before he turned the air blue though.

I think you will find that it was Gilchrist miked up not Gillespie. But i remember that 20/20 that was when Gilly smashed a few sixes and whilst doing it the commentators were asking him to name his spot etc

I liked it but only for muck around games and not for the real deal.

Speaking of cricket a nice effort from the West Indies last night and nice grab by Monty.

The weather forecast is lush for the test match up here next weekend like :D

As long as the sun comes out on the Saturday then I can drink beer, watch cricket and get a tan. Bliss ;)

I might be there on Saturday. Send me a text and let me know your whereabouts (I don't think I've got your number since I changed phones).

You're right, it was Gilchrist (I wasn't thinking straight - no change there then!).

Watching him sending two consecutive sixes into the stands and then the commentator told him 'we want another one'. Gilespie duly despatched the next ball way into the crowd - fucking marvellous ;)

Richard Illingworth? Ray Illingworth retired about 30 years ago.

Well done. You spotted the deliberate mistake! :D

Is there anything more annoying than someone who continues to make a mistake when they've just been shown the correct way?? :nufc::icon_lol:
