The Fish 10674
it was the absence of the safety wink that gave it away tbf. I'd quite like to see all homeless people drafted into military service. or relocated to Scotland where they can join the thousands of underacheiving wasters that call that hovel home. ----> <-----
Renton 21056
That was a serious comment from Renton in case anyone's wondering. Yes, it was. Is it even fair for a homeless person to have a dog, which nearly always looks in need of delousing and vetinerary care let alone food and a roof over their heads? I don't think so. I do appreciate how lonely some of these people must be, but it's a fact they're not in a position to care for an animal. To expect other people to support this existence is just wrong. Btw, ther's quite a lot of homeless "live" just outside my office. Pretty disgusting the way they use the area as an open sewer, solid matter as well as piss. None have dogs afaik mind. Jusoda Kid 1
Homeless people should have 13 weeks to find a home, if they fail they get put in a shelter very similar to a cat & dog shelter so prospective employees can come and have a look at them and decide if they'll be any use to them, for national minimum wage of course. Would definitely clean the streets up. P.S you can get a tent in Asda for less than £20 you tramps Edited June 12, 2007 by Wacky Jnr
ChezGiven 0
Well Bollocks to this enlargement of the EU if you ask me. Since January, there has been an influx of romanian gypsies all over the place. Was getting out of a taxi to catch a train and this gypsy has a little note held up against the window and stops me getting out of the car. I'm in a hurry so act like a bit of a twat just ignoring her and pushing the door open and her out of the way. I get my bag from the boot, swear at the gypsy under my breath and walk off when promptly the handle to my suitcase falls off. Samsonite too. Fucking gypsies! I now give them money all the time in an attempt to lift the curse she clearly put me under.

I think it's fair to say that very few of those who are out begging are actually without a roof over their heads of some description.

While the Poles seem to have eased the shortage of plumbers and sparkies in a lot of places the Romanians just seem to have added to what was already a surplus amount of Big Issue Sellers. Thanks Europe. Seriously though, coming over here just to beg? Fuck off!
Renton 21056
I'm pro-European but letting the Balkans in was a big mistake imo. Not wanting to sound Enoch Powell, but what use are Romanians?
JawD 99
Anyone go to Killington Lake services on the M6 southbound? Its up in Cumbria. The Costa there is full of them. Not sure where exactly. Had a coffee from there and when they say "enjoy your coffee" in that harsh European accent it almost sounds like a threat "You Veell Enjoy Zee Koffee"

The thing regulates itself as far as standards are concerned.
Guest alex
Ewerk was spot on on N-O btw when he said that foreigners should be welcomed here but shouldn't get any benefits until they've worked for a while. Different if it's genuine refugees but people from Eastern Europe don't fall into that category.

Both sides of the coin really, fucked me off in January being hassled by Gypsy beggars literally 2 weeks after the door opened to them. In London a cleaner get £6 an hour. Thats better than begging surely? Funny thing about the Polish plumbers. Few years ago, quite a few people left high flying jobs to train as plumbers as you could expect to earn close to £100k. Now all the Poles have arrived the price of plumbers has fallen considerably. Unlucky
Guest alex
The daft thing is kids at school should be encouraged to do courses like plumbing more instead of the government trying to get a third of school leavers (or whatever it is) to go to university. It's 50% and you're right. Edit: actually there was an article in the Times where it has been shown a degree is not worth as much as it once was. No shit! Should go back to the polytechnic/university vocational/academic split in higher education too imo. 50%? FFS
Jusoda Kid 1
A few of my mates are into partition walls and suspended ceilings, been earning good money for years but now they can't get the money they were, due to the influx of Poles. Rang the new Walkergate hospital site asking if there was any work coming up only to be told they were only employing Poles, now thats a fucking disgrace if you ask me. Another job they get a load of Poles in for next to nowt and expect my mate to work for the same hourly rate, he tells the gaffa to go and fuck himself. Anyway he gets a phone call weeks later off the same site foreman asking if they'd come in and put the job right, the poles had fucked it up big time. The Gaffa fucked himself twice within the space of a couple of months. By the sounds of it the people who do the hiring and firing are starting to see the Poles for what they are, shoddy tradesman only good for labouring. Different if it's genuine refugees but people from Eastern Europe don't fall into that category. Just a small point but worth mentioning. An EC immigrant cannot get benefits if they have not paid in sufficient NI contributions. That's the whole point of the EC-they're economic immigrants. manc-mag 1
The real issue is that they drive wages down (or keep them down as the case may be) and they send a load of their cash back home, so it doesnt get put back into our economy. But that doesnt sound quite as dramatic I grant you.
