Signed for Reading for a club record of £2.5m, appeared in three games and peddled for a £1m profit. Well done, Roy.

Missed the end of the 7 Ages of Rock last night too. Black Sabbath were fucking wicked like.

Like nothing around at the time, must have been something to see when they first appeared on the scene!!! And especially that part of their sound came from Iommi chopping the ends of his fingers just before they launched themselves.

I enjoyed the programme but obviously only having an hour there was alot missed out or glossed over that they could have made more of that i'd have liked to see.

Who?

Gay singer from Saxon. ;)

:D

Judas Priest surely? :D

Oh yeah! Ooops!!

:nufc:

In my haste to get the gag out, I made a fundamental metallic error.

*hangs head*

Rob Halford isn't it?

The singer is yes, not the new mackem player, hope he plays football like Rob Halford would!

I thought they would have mentioned the 3 chord note thing from the track Black Sabbath which was supposedly banned for centuries by the church for being evil.

Iommi was right - it does make the hair stand up.

I thought it was sly to count Led Zep as "stadium" to feature next week instead of including them as a "founder of metal".

Oh and on topic - so not Paul Scholes then? ;)

yeah you are right but then I trust they will be given there full dues in the next program. It was 'the story of metal' and the link from Black Sabbath is more obvious. I would have been more upset is they were mentioned briefly in this program tbh.

They've given themselves a problem by trying to cover the whole of heavy metal from its beginnings with the likes of Sabbath through to the modern day in 1 hour. So i agree it was better to go with Sabbath and Deep Purple here and save Led Zeppelin for another day as to mention them briefly would have been shite considering how important they are.
