Spent fucking ages setting it up 'just so' only to discover you cant organise your music by filename.

What a steaming pile of cack!

Why would your filenames be different to your track names though?

Renton the gypsy MP3 player user speaks out.

It's the fact you are so restricted on the type of file you can play and you have to use their proprietary software that gets me.

Feel free to offer an informed, logical, contrary position if you like!

Ipod Nano is wicked. FACT.

No, no it's not. In fact it is so far away from wicked I would call it absolute shite. I've had experience of two ipod shuffles and two ipod nanos, in which the os has fucked up in all of them.

You don't have to use their proprietary software - anapod is an example of alternative software off the top of my head. Secondly, only a spanner puts music onto their computer in WMP format - mp3 works fine on an ipod which is what most people seem to use. And thirdly, zip it fatso!

Firstly, fuck off!

Secondly, it's WMA, not WMP, and for whatever reason most my collection is in that format.

Thirdly, fuck off!

Don't understand the disdain people feel for Macs and iPods. It's a piece of hardware, nothing more or less. I've never had any serious issue with either, if I've got music that is in a different format I'd much rather swithc it to mp3, so that I can listen to it on my iPod. I like the iTunes layout and am used to it. But if something better came along I wouldn't swim against the tide just to be different.

I've found iTunes easy to use, easy to organise and easy to update my MP3 player with. I can't think of anymthing more I'd need from s media player, so I don't bother with Windows Media Player or Real etc. The amount of friends who've bitched and moaned about their Zen fucking up has put me off switching from a tidy piece of kit which stores enough music for my hour or so journey a day

... and doesn't ruin the lining of my trousers. ;)

That's fine but I have a legacy problem I don't want to spend hours fixing. And aren't mp3s twice as big as WMAs?

There's nothing an iPod can do that my Y5 can't. As for ease of use, mine is drag and drop. Couldn't be simpler.

Love my ipod, hate the non-apple endorsed vernacular now associated to it.

'Podcast' was bad enough, as if you couldn't listen to them without one, but now they're doing 'vodcasts' for christs sake.
