I don't like this name and shame approach tbh.

A donation should be voluntary and not a result of public pressure.

I totally agree.

dead right

Anyone who advertises that they give money to charity is obviously doing it for hedonistic or career enhancing purposes!

I absolutely agree too... doesnt stop the fact that it is rather amusing that no Chelsea players decided to take part in this initiative

To be fair there is no telling what players choose to donate to the charities of their choice anyway, but thanks to this some will be branded as being heartless.

I heard that Michael Owen didn't donate a days wages because if he had, all of the nurses in the country would be set for retirement and that this would cause problems.

Tbh whilst I think it's a bit shit that very few of the richest (ie Chelsea, Man U, Arsenal) clubs' players have donated, I think that by publishing who has/hasn't this is blackmailing players into giving money, rather than them donating to charity.

My housemate's a nurse and she wasn't too pleased when I told her this, but then again she's a massive racist and would probably only spend the extra money on copies of the Daily Mail, the ignorant bitch. Can't wait to tell her the girl I'm seeing is from Iran.

Anyone watch that documentary last night man? Fuck me, Glenn Roeder - you have to feel sorry for the daft twat. The lass is interviewing him and in the background he has a poster on his wall saying "I must work to Glenn time". :D

Then when she leaves he gives her one of those awful emails that you get - you know the ones "Take the time to enjoy every minute, because every moment of sadness is 60 seconds of happiness wasted."

Spent the whole interview telling her that "nothing is impossible. People said I could never be manager at this club - I nearly died from a brain tumour, but here I am now managing this fantastic club."

Interview finishes, and the voiceover goes "Unfortunately after the next game Glenn Roeder resigned due to a string of poor results."

Stop! Glenn Time!
