ewerk 31604
What exactly does he do in the midfield?
Glen 0
Anchors it. I rate him, particularly having watched him play a few times for Bayern. (sometimes) World Class defensive midfielder. As far as England are concerned, dropping Fat Lampard permanently and having Hargreaves behind Gerrard would be ideal.
Fop 1
It's funny how many people now say what a fantastic buy he is for Manchester considering the hell that broke lose when he was selected in the WC squad last summer... Totally agree, countless games for England where he's looked shockingly bad yet plays 3 good matches in the World Cup and suddenly he's the dogs bollocks. Thing is he can play, but for England anyway he only seems interested when we're basically knocked out of a competition (the majority of his England games he's been shite - Butt would have been much better). By all accounts he plays much better/consistently in domestic football though.

A lot of people suddenly rate him because the media tell them to, which goes back to Patrokles' point about people talking about players when they haven't seen much of them playing.
