newcastlebroon 0
thought alton towers was fooking fantastic. Went this morning about 11oclock thinking I would have to queue up for hours to get on the rides seeing as it was the school holidays. But in reality had to queue for 20mins at max, and being my first time at the place, was quite outstanded by some of those rides. That obilivion and nemesis are something else. Although was very dissapointed with "air". The End
Besty 4
Never been there yet, going next Wednesday with college though, should be fun. Been to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Lightwater Valley though, BPB is quality (the 'Valhalla' ride that's there is class, I think they've just got a new ride aswell) but LWV is shite, barely anything there. I'd never really been on a rollercoaster before today(apart from the one at flamingo land and metro land), and loved every minute of it. Oblivion makes you feel so alive it's unreal, and nemesis is the most intense ride I've been on in my life. Try not to go on the big rides more than once though, seem canny shite second time round (apart from oblivion that is).

Craig 6703
Lightwater Valley - haven't been there in about 18 years, is it still as shite as ever? Did Drayton Manor just outside of Birmingham last month - it was pretty good Fish, I wouldn't worry too much about panic attacks, they'll probably not let you on due to weight restrictions. Gemmill 47550
Went to a Six Flags outside of Chicago a couple of years ago, intending to go on none of the rides. Ended up going on the lot of them and loved it - the difference between these rides and the kind you get at your standard fair (waltzer and all that shit) are that these are genuine "thrill" rides, whereas the main focus of fair rides seems to be to make you spew your candy floss. Get yourself on the Apocalypse at Drayton Manor - you're stood up, held by your shoulders and with no foot plate, hoisted 200ft into the air, leaned forward 15 degrees and then dropped. You'd leave about 6 stone at the top! In fact, sod that - have a look for yourself. http://www.draytonmanor.co.uk/Apocalypse.aspx
The Fish 11119
it's not the rides so much as the park itself, I blame getting lost when I was a wee'un and wandering about some theme park or other. never really got over it and never really been arsed about it. Don't really feel like I'm missing out on anything.

Don't really feel like I'm missing out on anything. Basically scared of the rides then? I can manage the log flume and that's it I've been to a couple of theme parks and to be frank, I'm happier on the ride than walking around. The issue comes with the queuing and walking between them. I'd probably be alright if the park was empty and all the rides were right next to eachother. My sister used to work the "shows" at Alton Towers and would offer me and my friends cheap or free tickets to the park. I might be a big jesse when it comes to theme parks but I'm also thrifty so after months of badgering and whining I finally give up and go. As the park got busier the queues got longer and the time wandering around increased. As that happened I had myself a little freakout. When I came to my senses I got so embarrassed I had to leave and me and a mate found a country pub and grabbed a couple of pints while the rest of them finished their day out. won't be in a hurry to go back

At Sea World you can even sit in a big Chamu - blatantly taking the piss out of the fatties, man: "Here you go, you sit in this wheelchair......yep, that's right, it's shaped like a whale. Bit like you, come to think of it." Remember in the Disney in California seeing some fat bloke sat in his wheelchair, pipes coming out of his nose to help him breathe, hot dog in one hand, bucket of coke in the other, with his daughter (who must have been about 12) struggling to push him up a slight incline. One was a fat cockerny comedian saying that it's ok to be fat and we should all make allowances for fatties, they went to the Blackpool Pleasure beach and while stuffing their faces with everything and anything they could lay their chipolata fingers on, they were bitching about not being able to fit into the seats or through the gates. ... I was incredulous, didn't think anyone could be so bearfaced. temper that with Giles Corren's (SP?) program on More4 essentially advocating a taxation on fatties. I know where my support would go. Gemmill 47550
Didn't see that one no, but I saw some yank comedian doing a show that was called The Fatman's Warning or something. Basically this bloke was enormous and had had something of an epiphany, realising he needed to lose weight or he'd die. Anyway, he came over here to try to educate people that we are 2 years away from "this" - "this" being the size he was based on our growing rate of obesity. Was canny interesting actually, and you did feel a bit sorry for the bloke.

The people dumper trucks waddling around the place oblivious to the fact that they're all chuffing huge! One lass saying as she scoffs down her pizza that most towns in Brtain are like this. Bollocks! The bloke got my sympathy because he was trying to change, but so often I think because he was affable the message was lost on the fatties and the normal sized people didn't really need to be told. Huddersfield. Aye there were a few porkers that they interviewed who just thought everything was normal. That house full of fatties that he went to an'all - Jesus wept! Thought what he did at the school was good, and it really looked like some of the kids got the message when he put away about 30 trays of food saying that that was his normal total daily intake - the kids were disgusted and shouting at him not to eat anymore. See that bit where he went home and made his old breakfast he used to have. I honestly nearly spewed.

The coco pops, chocolate milk, chocolate icecream with chocolate syrup? that his parents didn't stop him is tantamount to child abuse imo
