sandman02uk 0
I'd like to see him stay, I reckon with the backroom staff Big Sam is threatening to bring in they could turn Martins into a legend

Jusoda Kid 1
I would keep Martins unless we get offered 13 mil plus. I'll put my neck on the line and say he'll get twenty PL goals next season. Look at the shite he's played with this season and he's spent most of the time battling up front on his lonesome, or in some games he might as well have been. As for his touch, sometimes it's sublime, sometimes not but he is still only young and imo has done exceptionally well this season for his first season here. I mean FFS Ameobi can trap a ball further than I can pass it and how many chances has that Donkey been given. I would also like to take this opportunity to remind people that if it weren't for his goals we would probably be passing the mackems on the way down so if the lad wants to stay he deserves a chance. P.S Juventus want him to spearhead their attack so he can't be that bad

To easy and predictable, as soon as I typed it knew 'you' would throw Boumsong in to the equation, agree on the league bit though

Also, how do you know Juve want him to spearhead the attack? Assuming they do want him, along with Arsenal and Valencia supposedly, what's to say they won't use him as a supersub like Inter did? I doubt they actually do want him though.
Dr Gloom 22508
i'd let martins goal for the right price. the odd spectacular goal and purple patch of goals doesn't really justify the £10m price tag. he's been our best striker this season by a country mile this season and he's scored some wonderful goals in a shite team, but for a £10m player, he doesn't do the easy things well enough: touch, movement, finishing easy chances etc... if we can hang on to owen, i guess we should use the money we get for martins to finance a move for someone like darren bent or dean ashton. i can't see owen and martins complimenting each other too well and surely we can't leave a £10m player on the bench? oh hang on, i forgot about luque... sandman02uk 0
haha, legend get a grip ffs yes I do, hes only young (depending on who you believe) and with a decent coach and working alongside own (should he stay) I think martin could become world class as has been said already, his goals have effectively kept us up this season and we have had an absolute fucking shocker hopefully we can keep him and he will grow into the striker alot of us want (and I trust him more than I trust fucking owen, who is gonna do one at the first possible chance) oh and I bought a new shirt with his name on the back

ewerk 31582
The England Under-21 international is among the Premiership's most admired full-backs and, with Stephen Carr and Celestine Babayaro expected to join Olivier Bernard, Craig Moore, Titus Bramble and Oguchi Onyewu in leaving Tyneside, Baines has been earmarked to fill the club's problematic left-back berth. That's the first time I've heard him mentioned in the media about a possible exit, if so then

That's what worries me most about the future. When we signed him I was sceptical about his ability to adapt to the special characteristics of the English game, i.e. pace and the physical aspect. I never thought he would struggle with things you rather think to be characteristics of the Italian game, like tactical/positional awareness and movement. I can't see him developing this kind of understanding of the game, not because of his age, but rather because he is probably too thick if he couldn't understand it in Italy where they have as much tactical training as probably nowhere else. Jusoda Kid 1
I think a lot of posters on here read into things to much and consider themselves top coaches just because they've spent the last few year playing FM
