DannyBoyFromOz 0
Planning on visiting the UK in October, have a few places on the list but can anyone suggest places which are worth a visit?
catmag 336
Other than Newcastle and the Northumbrian coastline, I'd recommend the Lake District for prettiness. York is canny too.

wykikitoon 19803
Chester is nice if your off to the Welsh Borders like Rob Suggests. If you visiting the Toon I Suggest Northumbria Lindesfarme & The Holy Island are a must Lakes Yorkshire Dales (Malham & Goredale Scar & Ribblehead Viaduct) Peak District (Ladybower & Derwent Water (Home of the Dambusters) Castleton) Wales (Snowdon & Surround Areas) Chester York South Coast, Cornwall & Devon. Croyde Bay, Padstowe. If your planning on Scotland too, Edinburgh & Peebles are the only places I know. Beautiful country.

Definitely, stunning views Also Scotland, around Loch Lomond too is well worth a visit. And of course I have to mention Devon, especially Torbay, Dartmouth, Salcombe and Dartmoor

Aye....Snowdonia's belter and if you're there in summer, hop on to Anglesey and head for Trearddur Bay. Great beach if you can turn a blind eye to all the Scousers. DannyBoyFromOz 0
Thanks for the suggestions, some places might be hard, limited on ways of travel thats all and only in the country for a top of two weeks but i'll definately keep the suggestions in mind. Obviously i'd like to get a taste of the culture as well as sights and history. As i said its only gonna be a quick visit because i'll be in Germany first and Ireland after, but definately hoping to return in later years so i will take all these suggestions into serious consideration. Magma 0
You could also visit centre parks.
Guest alex
On top of the places mentioned (and over and above those I'd say) you've got to check out the west coast of Scotland/the Western Isles. A bit hard to get to but that plus the subsequent lack of crowds makes it all the more worthwhile. Skye, Mull and Wester Ross are especially worth seeing. Try and go through Glen Coe en route too. Don't think there's anything quite like that in Oz.

Would have liked to have headed north but only in Germany for a few days, spending those in Bayern, staying in Prien and heading commuting from there to Oktoberfest. Would have liked to gone to Hessen with half my family being there.
