Scottish Mag 3
Leroy Rosenior has broken the record for English football's shortest managerial reign. BBC Five Live understands Rosenior lost his job at Torquay only 10 minutes after being introduced as the Devon club's new manager on Thursday. Chairman Mike Bateson called him to say he had just sold the club to a group led by Colin Lee, who then reinstated himself as director of football. Lee had only been made redundant from the post on 14 May. Rosenior, 43, was given the head coach position at Plainmoor when Keith Curle's short-term contract expired. Bateson told Rosenior that he did not know Lee's bid for the club was imminent when he appointed him. It would have been the former Brentford boss's second stint in charge at Torquay. The previous shortest tenure in charge in English football was Dave Bassett's four-day reign at Crystal Palace in 1984.

He may be chased at a later date though.
Isegrim 10035
The shortest reign of a (nearly) appointed manager I can think of was when the German FA was about to make Paul Breitner national manager in 2000. The telephone conversation lasted allegedly only a few minutes and went like this: [braun, Head of the German FA]: Paul, we want you to coach the national side as we think that you have many progressive ideas. Are you interested? [breitner] Yes [braun] So you'll take the job. [breitner] Sure. [braun] That's great. Good that we got the job sorted quickly. So what will you change first. [breitner] Well, at first I will demand that you and your cronies will step down. [braun] Are you serious? [breitner] Of course I am. Our biggest problem is that we have a bunch of old men at the top who do not know anything about football. [braun] Sorry to hear that Paul. I think I will have to look for somebody else (hangs up). Toonraider 0
Well....the goingson at my home town club have been astonishing Talk about pantomime Our Torquay forum is a buzz! What a season, I've lost count of how many chairman and managers we have had...ending with the inevitable relegation I think we are down to 4 contracted players at the moment! None of the fans wanted Leroy back, because of how he treated us those last few months he was here the last time. (though i will always have a soft spot for him because he took us up to league one) People here rekon that Leroy knew he wouldnt be our new manager, but agreed to say he was,as a favour to Mike Bateson to help force the hand of the consortium to renew their bid. ( previous bid being turned down by Mike B.)The consortium seems just what we need at Torquay, comprised of local business people who support the club, led by local soliciter Chris Boyce, who's father was a previous TUFC chairman. It was no secret that should the consortium be successful in their bid then they would reinstate Colin Lee as coach/director of football. We'll probably never know the truth, but the press interview Leroy gave to announce him as our new boss was very odd, it was like he was acting! Anyhow, hopefully things will finally start to look up for Torquay now!

Negotiating clearly not his strong point.
