Are you happy with the appointment? A simple yes or no will suffice, if you want to add more then feel free but otherwise it would be nice to keep this to one simple post each then we archive it and in a years time pull it back and see who was right.

(And Leazes you can rest assured NOBODY will mess with anyones posts, just like we didnt with the "Souness is great" post last time ;) )

For me Im happy to say YES,

hes not the most awe inspiring appointment but for once I feel its been thought out and involves some kind of plan.

He is an adequate rather than inspired signing. Potentially he could set up a decent infrastructure. However, we were led to believe the same of several other managers. Undecided to be honest. Neither for nor against.

If I have to say Yes or No then it is a Yes.

I'm going for a yes, and if backed by Fred, given his full team from top to bottom and time to build us up, i think he'll do a good job here, and long term we'll be in so much better shape as a professional football club.

Also think he'll do a good job in his first season before he even has time to completely overhaul everything he will want to when he sees the complete shambles this club is!

Maybe, it depends on how much control he gets I suppose and backing (and luck frankly).

He's not who I would have really liked, but I'm hopeful at least.

Yes.

Really looking forward to a total overhaul and I think Big Sam will do a good job.

Though this thread will possibly come back to bite most of us in the arse in a year. ;)

No.

The fans have been conned, this is a man who Fred thinks is worthy of replacing Robson, fired for not improving on 3rd. It has sod all to do with appointing someone to fit the current needs.

He is still under investigation.

He is not a football management genius, bringing in 28 new experts that we don't have is a total myth.

He won't stand up to Fred, he has nowhere else to go with which to threaten Fred, coupled with the nice juicy contract he would be giving up.

Yes. I think his backroom collection of coaches, medics and boffins will squeeze a little bit extra out of ordinary players. This has to be a positive seen as though we've all been moaning about the coaching, fitness and scouting of the club being in the dark ages.

Julys not in for me, I like the fact his injury list was low at bolton and he took them to Europe, if he manages to secure sidwell keep owen may be sign crouch and sort out the back four then I would be happy.

Not wanting to much am I?

In your gif mate, with all those SSH's, what does the picture of a house with 'SHH' stand for? Super Howey's Hoose? ;)

For moi Yes

I think he played the long ball stylee etc with Bolton as he had to adapt with the players he has had. I think given better individual players he can mould them into a better team and we can see that Sam is actually a decent manager.

Come on Sam, show em you can do it!

I'm happy with it. If the reports of the way he has conducted himself at Bolton are right i.e. back room staff, set-up then imo he can only be good for the club. Just hope he doesn't let the likes of Dyer pull the wool over his eyes with the tears and how much he's missed the game blah, blah, blah.

I'm happy, if only because SSH isn't.

;)

Yes; I've wanted him for quite a while, now he gets to prove me wrong.

Not who I really want but is much better than the options we all expected the fat man to go for.

But if he doesn't off load Dyer and Bramble then I reserve the right to change my mind.
