Remember my managerial appointments theory?

Keegan - Great manager but didnt win anything.

Dalgliesh - Proven winner but played negative football.

Guillit - Sexy football but lost the dressing room.

Robson - Great manager, father figure to all but ultimately lost discipline.

Souness - Disciplinarian and pissed off the fans.

Roeder - Former player to please the fans but ultimately couldnt motivate players.

So if Big Sam is appointed - then that will break this little tradition of appointing managers based on the failings of his predecessor.

I'm sure motivation is a big part of the big fellas style but its not the be all, end all of him.

I'm optimistic that a manager with more of an 'all round approach' would be a good appointment.

Motivation is about the only good point about Fat Sam's appointment

For other omens.

KK - success

Dalglish - failure

Gullit - failure

Sir Bobby - success

Souness - failure

Roeder - failure

Big Sam - ??

I actually liken Big Sam's appointment to KK's, someone who ticks all the boxes or most of them and not someone who is a direct opposite of the previous manager.
