Super_Steve_Howey 0
PS teachers always refer to bringing work home with them (ie marking) as though it's something no other professionals have to do. I try not to take anaesthetised patients home. I find it's a real pain in the arse trying to keep them alive Can an anaesthetised man get a hard on is the pertinant question.... What sick fantasy are you indulging in? Well, I'm in a car crash......

sweetleftpeg 0
Just text in sick. Can't speak you see. So it's a day of being pampered by my Mrs and watching Jeremy Kyle.
Craig 6702
Never taken a 'fake' sickie in my life..... Have exercised the 'work from home' option though. I have a company mobile, a company laptop and a VPN connection into work. Why make work for yourself?
The Fish 11080
if I could work from home I would. It might take me 12 hours to do 7 hours work because of all the procrastination, but I'd not get as frustrated/bored and I could use shitey days like Tuesdays to get more done instead of getting booted out of the office at 6 because the boss wants to go play Golf
Rob W 0
The trick is to establish a reputation as someone who will drag themselves to their desk suffering from the worst disease s known to man in order "to do my bit for the company" If you are really bad they send you home, if you stay you are obviously so sick no-one comes near you then when you need a "sickie" you call or email in and everyone starts dusting off their black tie and armband as "Christ"! It must be bad if Rob W can't make it" just avoid appearing on TV.....................
Toonraider 0
Sick days can and should be used as a supplement to annual leave where you feel your annual leave is inadequate. No guilt is necessary. You have a point, im rarely off sick, (think I went 8 years without one day or night off) then realised every bugger else takes plenty of time off ill! I qualify for up to 12 weeks EACH year sick pay So now i do occassinally take the odd night off if im not feeling great whereas of old I'd have dragged myself in however i felt. Thing is we're a close team and I dont like to land my co-workers in the shit, so now if im thinking i might be off I sort something out with one of the girls beforehand! Privately of course
sweetleftpeg 0
When I worked in a supermarket and the bookies I never took sick days, because you really did land someone else in the shit and I couldn't bring myself to do it.
The Fish 11080
if I don't go in, my work is just left for me so there's nothing to gain from ulling a sicky yet. However, the minute I'm in a position where I've streamlined and automated as much of the job as possible I'll take a couple.

Same with my role really. There's two of us in our team providing support for around 200 people in our building. If one of us is off, the other has to cover and it's hell. I'm good mates with him as well so I wouldn't want to put him through that if it wasn't genuine and he's the same.

That happens regardless man. We had one of our directors who, when confronted as to why he had downloaded hardcore porn onto his laptop while using a broadband connection in a hotel, justified his actions because he reckoned we'd not configured the web filtering properly and therefore it was all IT's fault! And yes, he was being serious!
Zathras 296
Been taking sickies when I feel a bit under the weather since I started working here. Not too bothered if I feel fine in half an hour and still took the day off. But now I've got about five weeks sick time saved up and I'll be quitting in 15 weeks. Methinks it's time to come down with a deadly tropical virus.

luckyluke 2
I hate being ill. It has no silver lining whatsoever anymore. I can't go to the gym, go running, will struggle to go to jitsu but I'll still go into uni because I'm just going to miss out if I don't. Oh for the good old days when being ill meant I could stay off school and play Sonic all day.
