Missed Sticks 0
Eddie Hazel and Michael Hampton are worth a listen. Helps that they played in a great band rather then exercising over a backing track

Tom 14021
Ok, a list. Jimmy Page. Pete Townsend Paul Kossoff Eric Clapton Jeff Beck Angus Young Hendrix Scott Gorham Gary Moore Herman Li Tom Morrello Matt Bellamy Jack White David Gilmour.... Theres loads... Probably not bothered by a fair few on that list now. Enjoying some simpler styles now. Dan Auberach as MF mentioned is a great player and concentrates more on style and tone. He's also very versatile and writes for the song. Adam Stephens of Two Gallants would certainly be up there as he does for folk what Hendrix did for blues, e.g make the style mainstream and accessible. So he picks up a lot of styles from old folk musicians and makes them decent to listen to. Still enjoying Joe Bonamassa as his new stuff is exceptional, Simon McBride is also kicking out some similar stuff. Matt Bellamy is very influential these days when it comes to guitar playing, not the most technical player but he certainly innovates and opens a lot of doors in developing the potential of the electric guitar. Also Billy Joe Armstrong from Green Day has a style quite hard to replicate for some people, although on paper it looks simple it's actually quite satisfying to play. Tom 14021
He's not really a million miles away from Hendrix apart from the use of a chorus pedal.
maggiespaws 0
Don't know about being "the best" but I've hugely enjoyed this lot's music....... Angus Young Bob Mould Johnny Marr John Squire One of my influences tbh. Sadly someone who's never really played to his full potential. When he wants to, he can play. Mick Jones Richard Thompson Jimi Hendrix Adrian Smith Gary Moore Rory Gallagher Someone who's easily forgotten unfortunately. Really very good though. My Dad has some of his stuff on vinyl (he saw him loads of times and even met him). He could make a solo out of pick harmonics sound good Accomplished sax player too. Bernard Sumner Kurt Cobain J Mascis Paul Weller (The Jam only! ) Noel Gallagher Ray Davies George Harrison I never really appreciated him until I got older. If i had to pick a favorite Beatle, it'd be him. [sad fact]Here comes the sun would probably make it onto my Desert Island Discs (even though he's written loads better, including Taxman - and that would nearly make it on)[/sad fact] Prince Whn he stops acting like a dick, he can really play. Live versions of Purple Rain are usually something good. Watch a video of him doing whilst My Guitar Gently Weeps (with a bunch of other 'serious' musicians) and he played everyone else off the stage. to be honest theres dozens.... Aye, you're not wrong

Tom 14021
Ah how could I forget Peter Green! Possibly because he went mad and was only really good in Fleetwood Mac. My Uncle went to see him at Stanley blues festival a few years back and apparently he just wasn't there, he had to be escorted on and off the stage and when my Uncle went to shake his hand he was just vacant!
