MrMiyagi 0
Shola's first game back from injury ffs. And was poor as he always has been. Or should we give him another extended run in the team, this time using the injury as an excuse for his immense shitness? Owen has been out for longer than Shola, yet actually looked like a footballer. Edited May 1, 2007 by MrMiyagi
TheInspiration 1
He did well. Much better than I expected from him in his first game Unlike the other comeback boy. Nice to see Shola hasn't lost his very unique touch for: - being offside almost constantly. The one time he wasn't it was by luck. - giving away needless fouls when we are in dangerous possessions. - and of course still having no spatial awareness. Jumping for the ball as it flies 3 feet above his head. Twat. Nah, you don't have a personal agenda against him - you just don't rate him as a footballer. Different things after all. He actually is a twat though. He actually expressed his belief that he could make the world cup squad last year to the media. Self belief is important, but such a poor player going to the media with something like that is just making a twat of yourself TBH! Okay, maybe a bit deluded, but that's different from being a "twat". It's good to see one of our players actually confident for once, whether he looks a bit foolish or not. Anyway, it's his first game back and that's not an excuse. It's common knolwedge players will look a bit rusty on their return and you know that - hence why you never whined endlessly when anyone else on our team returned from injury and wasn't a perfect player. Noelie 103
Sure, I'd be disapointed if he left... but wouldnt really blame him though. Well you and I are not in the same frame of mind kidda!! I'd be really pissed off if he left......and would attach a lot of blame to him if it was his decision. Sure we've had a bad season and for the most part a team lacking mediocrity but his absense could account for part of that scenario. With him in the team we may have done a lot better, at the very least scored more goals than we have. The facts are; ........ he was unhappy at Madrid, we bid for him, paid 17 million quid for him, he chose to come to Newcastle. Based on that alone I think he owes us at least one season in a Black 'n White shirt, and if he is a man of stature he will give us that. The fact he got injured playing for England was not his fault.....nor was it ours. The summer may bring in better players, we may have a better team, we may have a better season, and he should be here if it happens.........he owes us that much. Happy Face 29
If Liverpool win the European cup Owen's going to be gutted. Bad enough to leave the year before they win it, but to have the chance to go back the year before they possibly win it again, but end up here instead. Ouch. He didn't have that chance son, Liverpool weren't prepared to pay or put up the money needed that would have took him back to Merseyside.

Well no, but there was the possibility he could have gone back, which would be bad enough I imagine.

But Shola isn't rusty, he's persistently shit, regardless of match fitness.

HF's point still stands though. Owen is going to be clinically depressed if Liverpool win it. I think Owen will start next season with us, but if he doesn't leave in January (remember he won't be cup-tied for the European cups), he'll leave in a year's time.
