Scottish Mag 3
Shola Ameobi will make his Newcastle United comeback in tonight's game with Middlesbrough Reserves at the Riverside Stadium. And also included in the United side will be Titus Bramble, Peter Ramage, Charles N'Zogbia and Saturday's top man Andy Carroll. This means all five of them will be under scrutiny tonight in view of Sunday's game with Chelsea at St James' Park. United did not expect to see Ameobi back in a black-and- white shirt this season after he flew off to Colorado for a hip operation in November. And what Ameobi would give to be involved against Chelsea - a team he has always loved playing against. Bramble, of course, grabbed the winner against the champions in the final game of last season at St James' Park - a goal that meant United qualified for the InterToto Cup and eventually the UEFA Cup. With no contract offer on the table, Bramble must know deep down that he will not be at St James' next season, but the ball is very much in the former Ipswich defender's court as far as Sunday is concerned. Roeder is unlikely to turn to Craig Moore after the way the Aussie let the water in at Portsmouth, and Oguchi Onyewu looks just short of what is needed in the hurly-burly of the Premiership. Moore and Charles N'Zogbia were the two players substituted by Roeder in the first half at Fratton Park and given an interval blasting by the United boss. The word from the N'Zogbia camp is that the midfielder was not happy and there is even talk of a transfer request. But it is questionable as to who would want to pay money for N'Zogbia after what he has produced this season. At this moment Newcastle United is probably the best club N'Zogbia is going to get, and he should look at the way the careers of his compatriots Didier Domi and Laurent Robert nose-dived as soon as they left St James' Park. N'Zogbia has to show he wants to play for United - starting at the Riverside tonight. Edited April 17, 2007 by Scottish Mag

ewerk 31581
He certainly hasn't been at his best this season but to be fair he must have been getting pissed off that Duff was getting picked ahead of him no matter how shit he was playing. He was still one of the better players at the start of the season. Then faded out of the first team frame due to Roeder's dubious selection policy. N'Zogbia will become a good player unter a decent manager and coaching set up though. If only clubs would be interested...
sweetleftpeg 0
He hasn't been great this season, but he has been knackered and had limited chances to play due to Duff. His crossing radar this season has been especially poor.

wykikitoon 21456
Roberts career was on the down in the last season and a half for us anyway! Would be gutted if Zog goes tho
Scottish Mag 3
Duff only manages half a season these days. I imagine half of Tyneside are chomping at the bit to renew their season ticket with the excitment of getting to watch Alan "Billy Whizz" O'Brien and Matty Pattison fighting it out for the left wing position next season.... Do you reckon?

Fop 1
Milner's attitude > N'Zogbia's attitude Shame about the talent, eh. Talent is no good without attitude, or at least its no where near what it might be. Probably a combination of the the two players best bits would produce a phenomenal player, but then he wouldn't be at Newcastle anyway.

Do you reckon? Well in fairness Bernard was a a reasonable bet to try. Didn't work out at all, but I dunno that without hindsight if it could be said it was a shit idea to try it (I wouldn't have re-signed him myself on principle, but that's just me ). Although it's strange he isn't mentioned.

There have been loads of players with attitude problems who became great players under the right managers. N'Zogbias "attitude" problems are even explainable. There was nothing to complain about it until the poor man management started. Edited April 17, 2007 by Isegrim
