Chelsea's Didier Drogba and Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo head the Professional Footballers' Association player of the year award nominations.

United also have Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes as contenders, with Liverpool's Steven Gerrard and Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas in the frame.

Rooney, Ronaldo and Fabregas are also up for a young player of the year gong.

Tottenham's Aaron Lennon, Kevin Doyle of Reading and Manchester City's Micah Richards join them on the list.

my money goes on drogba. been immense this season and has scored 30 goals this season....

ronaldo whilst technically better than pretty much any of the premierships players still likes to showboat and i don't really like that.

The poll is a Jan-Jan or Feb-Feb thing isn't it? Don't know why like.

Aye its fooking daft that, or is it the FIFA World player that does that?

The PFA I think. Votes are already in.

This is just the Premiership isn;t it? Drogba has only scored 18 of the 30 in the Premiership, despite being top scorer. Ronaldo could still pip him to leading goalscorer and he's a midfielder.
