You're wasting your time Gregg, mate. Facts mean nothing in the face of an OMG HES SHIT1111 argument.

What facts? That he did nothing for 5 years then OMG HE SCORED 2 GOALS IN 4 GAMES THATZ A 1 IN 2 RATIO SHOLA 4 ENGLAND!!!! If you want to give ratios of such short periods and use them as facts to manipulate the fact that he is actually not good enough then that kind of fan fickleness is a contributing factor as to why this club underachieves.

I've already told Greg he's wasting his time, so what makes you think I'm going to enter into this? No ta.

Just curious as to what facts you're referring to?

All this whining people have at Shola is pathetic really. He played really well last year, until his injury really kicked in but we can accept that. People can't accept he's improving and has done nothing at all to warrant all this hate. I persoanlly don't think he's a particularly gifted player but he has his merits and he proved that he CAN score goals last year. I think he would be a fine fourth choice striker and hope he'll be better than before when he returns.

Whenever I've seen people whining about him they have always referred to him being crap for his first five years, and forgetting that's getting less and less relevant now.

Ameobi never played well with Shearer alongside him. With all other partners he's looked a lot better.

It's going to be hard to attract a new striker of any quality to this club when they know full well they're only 3rd choice.

EDIT: I've just read the story. Does that mean that Sibierski got his contract?

Name me who you would want to see us sign who is better than Ameobi and who we can get for a very small fee so not to dent our budget that must be used to sign defenders.

Our talent scouts are paid thousands so I don't see why I should have to provide a response. If they do their job properly they'll be able to find cheap players that are better than Shola. Benni McCarthy and Mpenza are just a couple of this season's examples that half-decent strikers can be picked up on the cheap.

Jason Roberts, he's wanting away from Blackburn. Shola is fucking pony and thats the end of it. He would have been gone a long time ago if he wasn't a local lad - factamondo

He's now dropped form 3rd to 4th

Shola has been playing at the top level for years alongside some world class strikers and he still doesn't know when to head the ball down i.e Charlton game a while back, Nobby had to tell him. He's a thick, lazy donkey

Is Jason Roberts the saviour of the howaythetoon message board? Both you and Leazes go on about him all the time. What's he actually done at Blackburn then?

If its the same Leazes that is also NE5 then I wouldn't worry, he is under the impression that full backs are only there to defend and have no responsibility to get forward and help out with the attack.

He's a boo boy, so it doesn't matter what he does. My feelings on him are well known, but I'll just add what really boils my piss is the pathetic stick he gets from his own fans both home and away, especially as ceratin people are just waiting to jump on his back. He's used as the scape goat, and I bet Stephen Carr can't wait for him to come back.

EDIT: As for Roeder, I heard a bit of Mick Quinn on Talksport today (I know, I was channel switching) who reckons he's heard stuff from hois 'newcastle connections' that moves are definately underway to replace Roeder at the end of the season.

Someone's probably been in touch with Quinn asking if he fancies the job tbh.

So basically you've just said what I was going on about - whining about him not being good enough for years. He played really well last year - just accept it. Why doubt him when he hasn't had the chance to prove he's still a "thick, lazy donkey"?

Some of the stick he gets is hilarious.

FFS Shola is a joke. Answer me this, when was the last time you saw shola strike the ball cleanly and with power?, and don't come back pointing out some fucking grass cutter he's amaged to prod in.

I can remember the exact game and my memory is like a sieve, thats how good he is.

He's meant to be a striker. That means striking the ball accurately, powerfully into the back of the net on a regular basis, he doesn't!

Okay, let's just give up on him then.

No, we should give him at least another ten years to work on his shooting skills (not to mention his heading and touches)...

I already have it's the people in charge that we need to give up on him though! Fucking clueless they are!

 We should tell everyone that he's still promising and showing potential too in his mid 20s

I have seen him strike the ball powerfully, but I admit he fluffs his shots up way too much. Similarly he's done some fine headers, but also some awful headers. So yeah, he's not a brilliant player and I've already stated he shouldn't be above fourth-choice. That however does nothing to argue with the fact he had an excellent 2006, so why not just build on that instead of assuming he's crap because he was five years ago etc?

Why should we accept having worse back up strikers than all the other top clubs? Even as 4th choice he'd inevitably play a lot of games and when injuries start he becomes 1st choice from 4th, and as he is too poor for that role!

It's not about judging him purely on how he was five years ago, but how he has progressed. And he hasn't progressed a lot. You can give him his goals recently, fair enough. And yes, he might get a bit too much stick (it's not his fault that he gets still picked despite not being good enough  ). But I still think that his overall performances weren't anything to rave about and that make you optimistic that he really will add something to the team in the future. And he's not 21 year old any more. So, I'd rather cash in on him and try something else with more chances that it is going to pay off.

Build on! Whats there to build on? He has barely got the basic skills you need to play at this level.

The only reason he should be kept is because he's a good championship player and thats where we'll be playing the season after next with roeder steering the ship.
