Lazarus 0
Steve Vai - Eugenes trick back, correct tempo Always thought he was over-rated meself Most of these soloists are, can do all the techniques but all the songs get tiring after a minute or to and it lacks heart. Give me "Layla" over "For the love of god" anyday. Depends what you're rating them on to be fair. In terms of technical ability and what they can do with a guitar they are amazing and so their ability isn't overrated at all. If you're rating them for their song writing ability, and how they use their ability to produce music you want to listen to more than once then that's a different thing alltogether and alot of them might be found lacking in depth there! Yeah but steve vai was beaten in a guitar duel by the karate kid! cant be that good

Tom_NUFC 0
As people have posted their guitars, I'll post mine. They're not as nice as some of the ones posted and I've only got 3 - one electric, one acoustic and a Bass. 1999 Epiphone Les Paul '56 Goldtop with Soapbar pickups. 2002 Fender Precision Bass (Mexican Standard) 1969 Yamaha FG160 acoustic. The Yamaha was originally my Mam's and she gave it to me when I was 16 because she has arthritis. She still plays guitar, but uses a classical style guitar now with nylon strings because its easier for her fingers. It's a bit scratched, but it still plays nice, although it could do with a new set of strings because the ones I have on at the minute are sounding a bit dull. Actually, I tell a lie, I've actually got 4 guitars. I also have a red Fender Stratocaster Squier, but I never play it, and it's in a right state. Needs new picks, the neck could do with being sorted out as its a bit rough. The first guitar I had was when I was 16, a black Satellite, which was a cheap Les Paul copy that I bought from a second hand shop in Wallsend for £10. It was horrid, and I got rid of it a year later when I got the Squier.

JawD 99
Had my first guitar lesson last night. Seems a canny bloke and a good teacher like (Jimi Savage). I'm starting from scratch like so just learning chords at the mo. Now I just need to stretch/grow my fingers as some of them chords need your fingers to be dislocated
