pertoon 0
Yet again Shay Given has groin trouble. Bearing in mind his injury at West Ham isnt it likely that this is the cause. The surgeon who did the op said he had only seen such injuries in high speed RTA vicims which in most cases proved fatal. As Given himself accepted it as an accident we have to give it the benefit of the doubt but you have to ask was it deliberate, accidental collision maybe but with such force????????????? As to the long term with the exertion needed by a goalkeeper it has to be asked will this be a recurring problem?

I think they've said that most of his issues this season have been linked to that perforated bowel injury. There's no reason why it shouldn't heal completely eventually, but maybe he's been brought back a bit too soon. On the other hand if it is the start of longterm reoccurring problems that could be a big issue for us.

Roeder has said he thinks this is because of the injury he sustained at West Ham, so hopefully they will get to the bottom of it and have him ready for next season. My as well just play Harper for the rest of the season with Krul on the bench now he is almost back to full fitness.
