Happy Face 29
My PC is taking up far too much space so I want a laptop to make some space. I know fuck all about PC's/Laptops though, so could someone give me a clue where's best to go and what I should be looking at to match/improve my current performance. At the moment I have Dell Dimension DIM3000 Intel® Celeron® CPU 2.93GHz 2.93 GHz, 768 MB of RAM Whatever that all means. I guess buying a new laptop means I'll get Vista and will need loads more...erm....stuff(?) to cope. I use my PC for internet browsing/downloading/streamed videos/ripping/burning/Itunes/MSN and email. No games. Not fussed about screen size (can you plug a laptop into an LCD TV that takes a PC?) Tried building one at Dell, but the best match I could come up with came to £678 Twice the cost of my Desktop 3 years ago. Am I best off just buying a smaller desk? Happy Face 29
... Am I best off just buying a smaller desk? well if your current PC is taking up too much space then buying a smaller desks just gonna make it seem worse! I have a huge desk. Could get a smaller one that would hold the PC comfortably, but would rather get rid altogether and just sit on the sofa with a laptop and have more living space. I've been PM'd a good deal. Thanks for all your help

nufc4ever 0
Put into context btw the first one has the same basic stats as the one Gemmill linked to (with a larger hard drive) and is £113 cheaper.
Gemmill 44804
I'd appreciate recommendations too as I may be investing in a laptop myself before too long. Whats the general consensus in the Apple vs PC laptop debate at the moment? I like my Apples (how d'you like them apples? ), but tbh, the lower end (read affordable) Mac laptops like the one I've got are a canny bit slower than the Compaq laptop I've got. So I would probably just stick with a PC.

Guest Patrokles
You could conceivably build your own (it's simple with an online tutorial), buy a refurbished one, or speak to your local PC shop, all of which will probably work out cheaper and more customisable.
