Steve 0
Alex, man, I need to know something. What is your problem with Perth? I just spent a long weekend there and loved it. I left England almost two weeks ago and had about a week in Tokyo. Fantastic, it'd been 10 years since I had been there. On my way back to Melbourne I stopped into Perth to visit some friends, and damn Perth is a nice place, particularly Fremantle. I think I spent most of the weekend at Little Creatures by the water out the back. So Alex, here I stand demanding an explanation to your Perth hate because I just don't get it. And Wellsy, give me some places to go to next time I'm in Perth, whenever that'll be.
Guest alex
I liked Freo tbh. Thought Perth was a bit dull. Don't hate the place though, it's just me winding up Wellsy a lot of the time. The weather was a bit crap when I was there which didn't help and I met some truly Blaydonesque types in the hostel I stayed in at Cottlesloe. Cottlesloe is a lovely place though. Rottnest Island is well worth a visit too. Also, the Belgian Beer Cafe in the city is class. What happened to you travelling around Europe btw? We did have a revolving resturant in town, which is half way up one of the buildings. You have all the tourists things to see outside of Perth itself. Next time you come around give me a message and i will get a list of places to go within the City. There is a few nice little joints you could visit etc. I liked Freo tbh. The Belgium Beer Cafe is the best place in town for beer! That place is the most random hilarious place i have been to for a drink. The random tipping of the bar and the random cheering when they ring the bell. The idea of taking your shoe off when you get a stein and then proceeding to place random pink slippers on your feet whilst you drink it. The Belgium chips with that sauce is mint aswell. I could go on but we have had many a laughs at that place. Quality place!

Greg 6
I loved Perth when I went there in...err 2002 maybe.. was a while ago and I loved it, was there for 3 weeks and I had a great time! Can't compare it to any other Australian cities as I've only been to Perth.
Holden McGroin 7032
I enjoyed Perth. There are a few good drinking spots. No-one lives in the city centre though so i found I had the shopping centres to myself (and fellow tourists) at the weekend. Weird.
sammynb 3674
Been there four times for work and seen nothing of Perth itself, except that dodgy all night diner. Seen a lot of the forests around Perth though and I can tell you they all look the same.
Steve 0
What happened to you travelling around Europe btw? I'm not home for good and still have a fair amount of travelling left in me. I get back to England in about three weeks and have a Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania trip booked for June and a Northern Ireland and Republic trip for July. I've spent most of my travelling time in Eastern Europe and Scandinavia because I find it much more interesting than Western Europe. I'll grudgingly accept your anti-Perth-ism, but what does make it hard to bear is that you rate Adelaide higher. I wish I could go all on everything South Aussie. Adelaide has nice wine and benefits from liberal canabis laws. What more could I want tbh? Pleased you're coming back over mate. We should definitely meet up when you're in Ireland too. I'd avoid certain parts of the North around the 12th though
