:lol:

Good Lord, wonder what kind of advice she can give us :lol:

I can guarantee it'll involve waaaaaay too much cleaning for my liking..

Although I did bake a cake the other day :lol:

any particular reason you came across all wifely and made a cake ??? :lol:

I had a bit of a mad spell. I'd been up for a day and a half after my last nightshift last week, saw two bananas in the fruit bowl and had an overwhelming urge to make a banana cake. So I did :lol:

Guest Patrokles

Parky, you ever hear about that advanced civilization they reckoned lived a long, long time ago, but on the coasts? They say that it was entirely destroyed when the sea levels rose, but they were clever fuckers, and well before we thought any 'civilization' existed. There are cities under the sea, pottery, and stuff.

Obviously not THAT clever :lol::lol:

Checking out those links, btw Parky, and it must be such a fucking rush to be the person to have discovered something like that. Just out there in the back of beyond and you turn up books that are centuries, or more, old.

Hadn't thought about that...Must have been awesome...

It was on a December day in the year of 1945, near the town of Nag Hammadi in Upper Egypt, that the course of Gnostic studies was radically renewed and forever changed. An Arab peasant, digging around a boulder in search of fertilizer for his fields, happened upon an old, rather large red earthenware jar.

Off the top of my head...

4oz (150g) butter, 4oz sugar, 2 eggs, 2 ripe bananas, 8oz (300g) self-raising flour. Mix the butter and sugar together, add the two eggs and mix, mash the bananas and add, add the flour and mix well. Pour into a loaf tin and cook on 180 degrees for about 45 minutes.

EDIT!

I don't actually weight the stuff out any more tbh. Just use a heaped dessert spoon as 1oz.

They're just flour, suet and water aren't they? I don't make them to be honest because I can't bear them. The thought of a plate of mince and dumplings makes me heave :lol:

Sieve your flour to get plenty air into it and use half as much suet as you do flour.
