tinofbeans 91
so with the legendary scouting network already understaffed and overstretched, we as newcastle fans could probably do the club some favours by seeing if there are any out of contract players available to us that would improve the team. as we don't know the budget for transfers maybe we could put a fictional £10million in the pot as well... this is a chance for you and me to help shape the team (in theory) also which players do we need to release. Ally 0
Out: Pav, Baba, Carr, Bernard, Moore, Bramble, Emre In: Ben Haim, Kompany, Heinze, Baines, Van Der Vaart, Emanuelson, Alves Ben Haim and Heinze are realistic, as is Baines at a push. Alves is never going to happen, Liverpool were quoted something daft like £12m and while he looks a class act we won't be in for him. I'll be disappointed if we get Distin on a free, though. Very over-rated imo.
Baggio 0
Ben Haim would got to a better club than us, possibly Chelsea if Mourinho stays. I wouldn't want Heinze, I think he's been average since he done his knee in.
Fop 1
Out: Pav, Baba, Carr, Bernard, Moore, Bramble, Emre In: Ben Haim, Kompany, Heinze, Baines, Van Der Vaart, Emanuelson, Alves We will never get van der vaart We'll never get rid of Carr and Baba either. Not until they are free agents or we pay them off anyway, I think. Emre might go for a 1/2 decent price though.

Gejon 2
One of the papers reckons Nugent is out of contract in the summer, sure we would have heard more about it if it was true though.... Redknapp is unaware of it anyway: http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...ears+Nugent+fee Edited March 25, 2007 by Gejon
Isegrim 9780
Out: Pav, Baba, Carr, Bernard, Moore, Bramble, Emre In: Ben Haim, Kompany, Heinze, Baines, Van Der Vaart, Emanuelson, Alves If van der Vaart is going to leave I think that Bayern will move heaven and earth to get him. vdV is somewhat injury prone but a fantastic player. I wouldn't mind his Dutch colleague Sneijder tbh who might more realistic. Kompany has been injured for most of the season and his first games in the season showed that he needs some time to adapt to a bigger league. Optimistic Nut 148
I've stopped naming players to come in now because that's the coaches/scouts' jobs. If we take it that Bernard, Srnicek, Moore, probably one of Bramble & Onyewu, Luque & Emre are probably on their way, and then you have positions where we're just p*ss poor, (full-back positions in particular). So...we'll have.... Given, Harper, Krul. No real problems there. Solano, Carr...two ageing players, one not a natural full-back, the other just not very good anymore Babayaro, Huntington...one not a natural full-back, the other just not very good anymore Taylor, Ramage, Bramble/Onyewu...inexperienced and lacking quality Milner, Dyer...Fine. Duff, N'Zogbia...Fine. Parker, Butt...Decent players, no strength in depth. Owen, Martins, Ameobi, Sibierski...Two quality players, one decent, one not-so-good. I reckon we need, in order of importance...
