Guest alex
I AM IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH BRIAN CANT. 24094 How about Ketsbaia's Mobile though? 24107 Come on Alex - just because everything they say seems to have the same ring about it 24111 Going off his logic, surely the very same whingeing fans he blamed for the club's malaise must now be commended for signing Michael Owen, or something like that. sammynb 3508
But that would be admitting that the board reacted to the supporters and not that "they had a plan!"
Asprilla 96
I don't believe the board "magicked" £17m out of thin air due to some disgruntled fans at Bolton. I believe they've been watching several targets all summer but were patient enough NOT to capitulate and held their nerve to land Owen. We could have had Anelka if FS hadn't held his nerve. Not that he would have necessarily been a bad signing, but he's got more baggage than Louis Vuitton. Whatever anyway...I am happy as Larry! By that logic, you can only be a fan if you are negative towards the board. I'm not because they have managed to make Newcastle a top 5 club when others have fallen by the wayside. Yes the fans are a factor, but they were not as plentiful when we were being managed by Ossie Ardilles. I have supported Newcastle since I was a boy, when my Geordie father told me in no uncertain terms that I would be supporting them. This was the 70's and Liverpool were cleaning up. I did not grow up in Newcastle, I didn't even grow up in the north east, but I supported them all the same even when my mates thought I was mad. I remember Keegan signing as a player and the buzz he created. I remember that poor bloke Sky used to show on the terraces when we lost out to ManU. I remember Shearer coming home. I have learned that to support Newcastle is to be an eternal optimist. I have said all along that I think as unfashionable as he is, GS is the man to win us the Worthington Cup and break our duck. After that, we'll see. Winning the league though is unlikely to happen until Abramovich leaves Chelsea which I can't see happening soon.

The West Ham game being the most depressing. I have seen us get tonked off ManU before and for a while we gave them a decent game. Same with Arsenal, and sooner or later we're going to have to accept that Bolton are a difficult side to get points against especially there. The next few games will shape our season. I'm optimistic that in 2 months time, we'll be at the right end of the table.

LeazesMag 0
The amount of CRAP that's been directed at the board has been nothing short of shocking. FS DOES know what he's doing. Honestly how many of us here run major companies? It's so bloody easy to carp from the sidelines. I run my own business, primarily because I can't stand being told what to do. Most people don't have the balls to take that risk and so end up in a shit job for a reasonable salary. It pays the bills etc etc. Well I know people like that. And do you know what their specialist subject is? COMPLAINING. They won't stick their necks out, but they'll be the first to criticise and all the while they have no intention of leaving. As someone who knows....GET BEHIND THE MANAGER. No Souness isn't my dream manager, but he's the one we've got. The one who stood up to Bellamy. The one who signed Parker. The one who signed Owen. The one who is in charge for this season. The one who had the balls to plant a Galatasaray flag in the centre circle at Fenerbahce. I've had some wine and I'm fucked off with you whingers. Everybody else is FREDDY SHEPHERD....you did a good thing. You brought smiles to this beautiful city. 23488 Just thought I'd have a look at this post because so many had replied ....
