wykikitoon 20113
Jimbo me ol' fruit Is it possibel to check the IP's of posters who post on invision boards? I know you can on PHPBB. The reason I would like to know is a friend runs a board usin Invision and is getting people (or bots) posting "Adult Content" posts. For the time being he has made everyone log in to stop this. Just wonderd if there was more secure option thats all Cheers
Craig 6682
Yep - admins can see the IP of every post made. It appears to them at the top right of the post just the left of the "Post #" link. TBH though, if he's had the forum so that guests can post, he's left it wide open for spam infiltration.
wykikitoon 20113
Hmm cheers Craig A mate runs an invision board for the local MTB club, he is getting people signing up and then posting some shite about drugs (Viagra) etc. Could these be bots? If so is there an option in Invision to "activate" the account?
Craig 6682
We had a load of them doing the same thing about 6 months ago - in the end we were deleting the accounts as quickly as they were being created. The way we got around it in the end was to verify any account that was being created. But as someone pointed out to me, if they're finding it necessary to spam your board it's a good indication that it's seen as a busy forum
